Well, we’ve had a crazy past few days!! On Thursday we took the kids down to St. George, Utah (about 300 miles south of Salt Lake City) for a fun little family trip!
The main reason we went down there was for the St. George Marathon, which Kev was supposed to run with his brother. Unfortunately, he’s been suffering from multiple running injuries (IT Band AND Achilles….yikes!), so he wasn’t able to run. Poor guy. I feel so bad for him because he was doing SO SO awesome on his training. He was WAY ahead of schedule and had done a few 13-15 milers….then he got hurt. Dang. I think I jinxed him because I told him it’s amazing how he never gets injured! I think this is his first “real” running injury and he’s been running for 5-6 years!
Anyway, Kev’s brother still ran the race, so we went down to cheer him on! I LOVE the energy at races, especially the St. George Marathon. It’s amazing. I have so much respect for every one of the runners. They are my heroes. I hope to run a marathon one day, and I would love to do St. George!
We had a fun trip. My sister let us stay in her condo (Thanks, Holl!) and we had a really good time. Unfortunately, I took a total of 2 pictures! Ya. Here is one of them…
We had to take a picture by the palm trees! I love them! We took the kids swimming and they had a ball! Sorry, this pic is kind of lame….I took it with my phone.

This past weekend was also General Conference for our church. It’s a semi-annual worldwide televised conference where our church leaders give inspiring and motivating talks. I love it and look forward to it every 6 months.
We were actually able to attend the Sunday afternoon session down at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City. It was wonderful. We took Kev’s brother and his wife with us. Here’s a pic (sorry, it’s taken with my phone again!)
Soooo, that’s what we’ve been up to this past weekend!

Well, the little month long challenge I did with my friend is just about to come to a close. I’m sorry to say, I didn’t do so hot. I did really well most of the time, but I really botched it the rest of the time. Lame.
I really fell apart this past weekend on our trip. I got in the “I’m on vacation and nothing counts” mode, which is NOT good! But, I must say I’m grateful for the times when I eat a bunch of junk and don’t exercise because it reminds me that I DON’T LOVE TO LIVE THAT WAY. Yuck. It’s fun for a little bit, but it is so not worth it. It makes me feel physically sick, unmotivated and blob-like. It really is not fun.
I would MUCH rather eat well, exercise and feel DISCIPLINED! It’s hard work, but the pay off is huge. I love it so much more! I know I’m human and despite my best efforts, I will continue to fall off the wagon from time to time. Sad and frustrating, but true. BUT, I’ve learned to love healthy living so so much! It’s really become the “norm” for me and it brings me so much joy. I would dare say it brings me more joy than chocolate chip cookies….which is saying a lot!
I’d also like to tell y’all that if you are frustrated with your health and would like to change….YOU CAN! Really. Take a minute and reflect on your life. Identify where changes can be made and change them! The hard work is so worth it. It kind of reminds me of a math equation….you input the formula (healthy diet, exercise, sleep, etc.) and you WILL get the same result every time….health, fitness, healthy weight, happiness, self-mastery and discipline! YAY!
With all that being said, I just started a new healthy cleanse (not really a cleanse, just a healthy diet plan) today. My doctor actually recommend it to me. I want to tell you all about it, but I need to go to bed! I hope I can hop on here tomorrow and tell y’all about it!
I hope you are all happy and living life to the fullest! Love you all! xoxo
Leave a comment....I would love to hear from you!
