Well my life has been insanely insane….and it’s getting very OLD!
Seriously.
I’m just barely keepin’ my head above water.
I’ve still been trying to eat well and exercise, but I haven’t been as stalwart as I should. I’ve been doing better on the weekdays and then I kind of fall apart on the weekends.
It’s been frustrating.
However, I’m happy to say life should be calming down a bit now.
Halle-freakin-lujah!
I’m also happy to say I am going to shape up BIG TIME! No more slackin’ for me!
A friend of mine (thanks Rachel!!) just invited me to join in on a fun little health challenge. It is just what I need right now!!!
It starts on Monday, April 9th and ends Sunday, July 1st. If any of you are interested, you can sign up too!!! You gotta hurry though!
Here are the basic details….You pick a measurable goal to work on for the three months. You mail $20 to the organizer head lady. If you keep your goal the entire 3 months, you are guaranteed to get your $20 back. You may get more $$ back at the end too. Basically anyone who doesn’t keep their goal the entire time loses their $20, then at the end all the $$ gets divided up amongst those who kept their goals!
There are also fun weekly challenges and drawings and things the whole time. I think it sounds like a blast. I definitely could use a kick in the pants ’bout now. I don’t really care about the money either, I’m just doing it for the motivation and support.
So if you’re interested, check out this Facebook page….

You can email the main lady chick with any questions. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, the goal I’ve chosen is this:
Have NO “treats” 6 days a week for the whole 3 months. “Treats” consist of brownies, cookies, cake, chocolate, candy, etc. Basically no obvious sugary treats.
I was just going to do no treats at all, but then I saw that a lot of other people’s goals were for 6 days a week. Sounded good to me! Oh, and I’m not going to go crazy on my 1 day a week either. If I do decide to have a treat, it will just be one.
So, there ya go! It should be fun. I love stuff like this. Of course, I will keep y’all updated as well.

Moving on……we had another crazy busy weekend (shocker!) Here are a few of the highlights….
- Kev’s parents came to visit us from Oregon, which is always fun.
- Kev ran a half marathon Saturday morning. He didn’t love it though. 🙁 He said it was one of his hardest runs ever (and he’s ran several halfs and a couple full marathons!) I was really surprised. He was very prepared too. Weird.
- We attended a session of General Conference with Kev’s parents. It’s basically a semiannual meeting for our church, at which church leaders give very motivational talks and encouraging words. Love it. Definitely recharges the spiritual batteries, which is so important to overall health!
- Soccer season started for our 8 year old son. Crazy….but fun.
- We went up to my mom’s house on Sunday. We had dinner up there and the grandkids enjoyed a fun Easter Egg hunt.
- I’ve also been watching my sisters 5 kids today and yesterday while she and her husband are in Florida. It’s actually been fun. Our kids play really well together. However, I do feel a little like the “Woman in the Shoe!”
- My cute little baby’s birthday is TODAY! Yes, he is 2. 🙁 We actually celebrated last night though. Tuesday nights are our craziest night of the week, so we opted to celebrate on Monday instead!
Well, that’s my weekend + Monday in a nutshell. Crazy. I’m completely worn out from the past 6 weeks, but I’m very encouraged and looking forward to the future. Yay!

I would love to join this challenge with you. I think I am just going to do it on my own, instead of paying the money. if that’s ok. I like your goal. I would like to do it with you. I need a new challenge! I’m getting bored with my everyday life. I will let you know how it is going for me. I’m glad it’s starting AFTER the Easter holiday! Laura

Laura, sorry I’m so slow to respond. I’ve been a very sick lady. 🙁
I’m so happy you want to do this challenge too!!! You could follow along on the Facebook page and do the extra weekly challenges too if you like. I think it will be awesome.
I SOOOOOOOO need this right now! I’m also glad it’s after Easter too! Keep me posted on your progress!!! Yay!

I’m in on the challenge. Now I have to come up with something that will really challenge me. I like the weekly challenge things. I need to send my money. Do you have any suggestions for me?
Melanie says
Kelly, sorry I’m so slow….I’ve been so sick! Blah.
I knew you would be up for the challenge!! Yay! You are so disciplined already though…you don’t have much to improve on! You could do the same goal as me if you like, although I think you’re better at avoiding treats than me. 😉 You could also set your goal to be some PR for running or something too….except you’re already speedy “Boston” fast. You could do some kind of calorie goal too. I know you’re good at that! Or maybe your goal could be to just “keep on keepin’ on” being the same awesome, inspiring Kelly that you are. 🙂
Or….I KNOW! Your goal could be to move to UTAH! I love that one! Let me know what you decide on!
