I had the funkiest breakfast EVER this morning…
Two hard boiled eggs (mostly just the whites), chicken and cocoa roast almonds!
Ya. Weird.
I went to the gym this morning and wanted to grab something quick I could eat in the car. Soooo, I came up with this! It was actually pretty good!
When I got home, I made myself a yummy protein shake (sorry, no pic.)
Later on, I baked a bunch of Yukon Gold potatoes and sweet potatoes. Here’s what Kev and I did with them….
Kev’s plate. He took a Yukon Gold potato (yes, it’s under there) and topped it with a big ‘ol salad and chicken! He said it was awesome!
My plate. Look how much food that is!!??! I had a sweet potato topped with a little honey and cinnamon (the bomb!) with salad and chicken on the side. I was stuffed after this!
This was so yummy! I am definitely very sick of this diet, but I WILL NOT QUIT!
I AM looking forward to adding fruit in 8 days, 2 hours and 16 minutes, however.
Moving on,
Yesterday, my 11 year old daughter and 9 year old son ran a fun little race! It was called “Dash after Dark” and it was put on by our wonderful city. They had a 5 mile run and a 1 mile “fun run.” I love love love our city! They put on fun races all year long. They also have fun activities for Halloween, Christmas, Easter and the 4th of July! Awesome!
My kids just signed up for the “fun run”, but it was “SO FUN!” There were only about 20 people who ran it, but my son came in 1st and my daughter came in 5th! My son ran it in 9:06 and my daughter ran it in 10:13. My (very competitive) son was SO proud of himself! It was funny. He could hardly wait until they handed out the awards. It was great for his confidence…..I think??
Anyway, here are some pics from last night. It was VERY cold and windy. I was glad I wasn’t running!
My daughter, just about the finish!
Kev and the kids, after the race.
Me and the kids, after the race!
My cute kids, after the race with their medals! Look at my son’s beaming face! He was just so proud of himself. My daughter loved it too!
Even though it was just a 1 mile race with about 20 participants, my kids had a ball! It pretty much made my son’s year. I was so proud of them both! It was a fun night!
I hope y’all are having a wonderful weekend! I’m so glad weekends happen once a week! Yay!
