A Fun Weekend and a Great Def Leppard Concert!

June 24, 201418 Comments

I hope y’all are having a wonderful Tuesday!

We had a really fun weekend and a really fun day yesterday.  On Friday night, Kev and I went to see the movie, Edge of Tomorrow.

Edge_of_Tomorrow_Poster

I really liked it!  I thought it was going to be the typical “futuristic shoot ’em up war movie,” but it was a really interesting story.  I loved Tom Cruise too.

Sadly, Kev and I had to sit up really close to the screen and it made me kind of sick though.  I felt really nauseous throughout most of the movie.  I think it was a mixture of weird pregnant stuff, mixed with the fact that I can hardly breathe these days, mixed with sitting up way too close to a screen while watching a very action packed movie!

I still loved the movie, but was sad it made me so ill. 🙁

On Saturday morning, Kev came with me to my crazy hard class at the gym AGAIN!  Woo hoo.

I grabbed some apples, nuts and warm lemon water as we ran out the door.  It’s the perfect “I need a healthy on-the-go breakfast really quick, but I don’t know what in the heck to make” breakfast.

I ate half the nuts and apple before my workout and the other half afterward.  It was great.

I’ve been lovin’ Kev coming with me to class too!  I’m so proud of him because there are only about 6-7 guys that come and a million ladies!  It’s a great workout though and not “femmy” at all.

Kev and I before our crazy class at the gym

It’s basically just a super tough weight lifting workout that kills every muscle in the entire body!  We did 128 pushups (I did them all on my knees), a bunch of variations of squats (about 15 minutes worth!) and some great upper body stuff.  Loved it!

Kev said he enjoys the class because it’s different than his other workouts (mostly weight room stuff and runs) and it’s good to “change it up” sometimes.

On Sunday, we had my sister and her family over to dinner.  It was awesome.  We had roast, mashed potatoes, carrots, watermelon, pineapple, homemade rolls and guacamole/salsa and chips.

It was yummy, but I totally forgot to take a picture of my plate!  I did get a picture of my sister and I together with HER plate though.

Roast and potatoes with all the fixin’s in one of my all-time favorite dinners!  Yum!  We had a fun night chatting and enjoyed good food and company.

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw where Kev and I went last night!

Kev and I at the Def Leopard concert

We went to the KISS/Def Leppard concert and it was so much fun!  On the way there, we stopped by the Chick Fil-A Drive-thru for dinner.

Chick Fila on the way to the Def Leopard concert

I got myself an 8 piece chicken nugget (they are the best in the world, but they’re fried….dang it) along with a side salad.  I topped the salad with some of their Berry Balsamic Vinaigrette (I used about 1/2 the packet.)  Everything was awesome.

I calculated this meal to be only 400 calories, 33 grams of protein, 20 grams of fat 🙁 and 1420 mg of sodium (yikes!)

Not too bad, but I hate how much sodium is in restaurant food!!!

We had a wonderful night at the concert.  I got us tickets on the lawn (because I’m cheap), so we got there about an hour early so we could get a good seat.  It was nice to relax on the blanket and “people watch” for a bit.  I must say that a concert, especially a KISS concert, is a VERY interesting place to people watch.  OH MY!

We absolutely LOVED Def Leppard.  They have SO MANY great songs!  When the music first started, I really, really, really wanted to get up and “rock out” to all the songs.  However, I felt a little funny “rockin’ out” at a rock concert as a pregnant lady, lol.

BUT, after a song or two, I got over most of my inhibitions!

I LOVED singing Pour Some Sugar on Me!!!  It was so loud, so I pretty much belted it out with the rest of the crowd.  However, when I watched this clip later, I realized all I could hear was ME….and I’m way off.  I had fun though. 😉

My all-time favorite Def Leppard song is Photograph!  It was the last song they sang and I loved it!

I even “tried” to sing along, but realized I didn’t know the words, LOL!!

We had so much fun!  We stayed for 4-5 KISS songs, but decided to leave after that.  We quickly realized we didn’t know ANY of their songs!  They put on quite the show though and were very fun to watch.

We had a wonderful night!

Well that pretty much sums up the past couple days!

I’m still trying to keep a somewhat healthy lifestyle even though I feel SO DANG tired most of the time and crave sugar ALL of the time!

My goal is to survive and minimize the damage until this baby arrives (in about 7 weeks!)  I will do my best to hang on tight to the wagon!

I thought I would share my 32 week pregnant picture.

Me 32 weeks pregnant

I told you guys I don’t really get a huge belly, but I feel like my whole body kind of morphs into one giant square blob.  Cute.

I also thought I’d share another “take” of my 32 week pregnant picture….

My 32 week pregnant picture with Derek in the background

My kids always think they’re SO FUNNY when they photobomb my pictures, so I thought I would share it with ALL of YOU!

Have a great night!  xoxo

You always look like you’re having so much fun!!! And I love the family time too 🙂 🙂 And uhhhhhh I had my first ever Chick-Fill-A experience 2x in ONE WEEK! I got their grilled chicken nuggets, which are delicious! THANKFULLY they were gluten-free and dairy-free! I was so scared they were going to make me sick but I was just so hungry!!!

And I actually heard from a HUGE MOVIE CRITIC that Edge of Tomorrow is a really good movie, so I might have to go see!

I love family time so much! It’s the best. I’m glad you went to Chick-Fil-A twice. I really love their food and service and I’m glad it didn’t make you sick! I really enjoyed Edge of Tomorrow too. Great flick!

Omg I LOVE Def Leppard, grew up listening to them and love, love that song photograph too! I wasn’t a KISS fan either…don’t know their music. I love Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Guns ‘n’ Roses, Aerosmith…all of those! I can’t believe you only have 7 weeks left, it has gone by so fast! WOW! You look adorable in that dress!

I LOVE all the bands you mentioned! I absolutely loved singing all the Def Leopard songs at the concert. They are the best! I’m seriously counting down the days of this pregnancy….7 weeks still seems like too long. 🙁 I’m sure it will fly by though!

This was such a fun post! Since I only “know” you virtually, I really enjoyed a different look at your fun-loving personality! I LOVE your video clips (and your bravery!)
Apparently your kids inherited your sense of fun. The photo bomb is precious.
Holy moley, it’s a wonder you didn’t go into early labor during that intense workout you described!

I LOVE your rocking out video!! I haven’t seen this movie, but my friend saw it twice so I am guessing it was pretty good haha. Workouts with your significant other are the best…ever.

Thanks! We had so much fun at that concert. Edge of Tomorrow was a really great movie too. I don’t know if I’d see it a second time though, lol!

Those videos are hysterical!! love them!! I have to admit that Pour Some Sugar on Me is kind of ‘our song’ for me and my husband, and I may have done a little stripper dance version at our wedding. lol. I’m very glad that video isn’t around anywhere. Thank goodness Facebook was in it’s infancy then!

I went to a Jimmy Buffet concert while pregnant with my older girl at about the same point, 32-34 weeks, something like that. It was great, but really felt odd being a big ole’ preggo at a Buffet concert! We had lawn seats too, but by the end of it I was really wishing for an actual seat. My back was killing me. Looks like you two had a great time!

Oh my gosh, I love your Pour Some Sugar on Me story. So awesome, lol!

I’m so glad to hear you can relate to being a preggo at a concert too! It was awkward, but we rocked it anyway!

You look so good! How awesome that you went to a Kiss/Def Leopard concert! I went to a concert last week and it was fun but I had to stand the whole time so I was pretty exhausted by the end! It’s awesome that your hubby goes to class with you!

We had so much fun! We had to stand most of the time too, but thankfully we didn’t stay the entire time. 😉
