I’m so sorry I haven’t been able to blog as much I would like to lately. 🙁
We’ve been very crazy (aren’t we all!?), but despite the craziness, I’ve still been trying to spend some time chillin’ with the fam and soaking up the Christmas spirit.
Yesterday I decided to make a very fun and easy Christmas treat with my two little boys.
Chocolate Kiss Pretzels! Aren’t they so cute!?
Not only are they cute, but they’re super easy to make and dang yummy too.
There’s just something about the whole chocolate/pretzel combination that I love so much.
This is the perfect treat to make with little kids too. My kids absolutely loved the entire process and were so proud of themselves for making something so beautiful and tasty.
They also only take about 5 minutes to make (30 minutes if children are involved, lol), so if you turn on the tree and some Christmas music, you’ve got yourselves the perfect little kid-friendly Christmas activity.
Anyway, here’s how you make them. You probably don’t even need directions, they are so simple!
Chocolate Kiss Pretzels
- 24 pretzels (you can use circular or square pretzels or whatever the heck you want!)
- 24 chocolate kisses (any flavor you like)
- 1 small package milk chocolate M&Ms
I used square “snaps” pretzels and some milk chocolate and candy cane kisses. Yum.
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place pretzels on baking sheet (I lined mine with parchment paper, but it’s not necessary.)
Unwrap candy kisses and place one in the center of each pretzel.
**Oh my goodness, I love these cutie patooties! They took such pride in their work. 😉
Place baking sheet with pretzels/kisses in the preheated oven for 1-2 minutes until kisses become soft, but still hold their shape (you don’t want them completely melted!) Note: for some reason the Candy Cane kisses softened quicker than the milk chocolate ones.
**My boys loved watching their creations soften in the oven. Oh, and 1-2 minutes was just perfect for their short attention spans. 😉
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow them to sit for about a minute.
Carefully press one M&M into the chocolate kiss, pushing it down and flattening it (I moved mine onto a plate so my boys wouldn’t burn themselves on the baking sheet.)
Put the Chocolate Kiss Pretzels in the fridge until set. That’s it!
My kiddos were quite proud of themselves. And by the looks of their chocolate faces, I think they enjoyed the fruits of their labor as well!
Oh, and even though this “recipe” is extremely simple, I still managed to mess it up a bit! Yes, I knocked over the baking sheet full of a bunch of beautiful, freshly made treats…
Lovely.
You’d think the kids did that, but no, it was me! Fortunately, there weren’t very many on the baking sheet when it fell. Oh, and I decided to “take one for the team” and eat them anyway even though they were “ugly.” 🙂
Oh, the rough life of a mother.
Despite my issues, the majority of the Chocolate Kiss Pretzels turned out beautifully…
My big kids were so thrilled to see these fun Christmas treats when they got home from school. In fact, my 10 year old was so impressed. He said, “Mom, did you make these from scratch!?”
I had to laugh.
Anyway, these are really such an easy, fun treat to make. They’re also the perfect treat to make for a party or to give as a gift. We loved them so much!

I also have a very fun, easy and quick workout to share with you guys (sounds like the perfect thing for the Holiday season, right!?)
The workout is from Tribesports (they have a bunch of great workouts on their site!) I really like the graphics they use; it makes it so easy to follow.
This workout is meant to be like a “12 Days of Christmas” workout where you do the first move the first day, then the first and second move the second day….and then keep going like that until you get to the twelfth day and complete all of the moves. However, I’ve done this workout twice now and have just done all twelve moves at once (it only takes about 10 minutes.)
Oh, and I was inspired by the graphics, so I decided to do my workout wearing a Santa hat (yes, it’s a Duck Dynasty hat) as well, lol! I turned on some Christmas music and rocked it out. It was really fun!
This really is the perfect workout this time of year because it’s so quick! Heck, you could even run through it 2-3 times and it would still be a quick workout. It’s a fun workout to do with kids too.
Oh, and Tribesports has a new online store full of a bunch of cute stuff. And, if you use the code TRIBEFAMILY15 you can get 15% off your order until December 24th. Fun.
Well, I have to go get a bunch of “hustling and bustling” done today so I gotta go. Enjoy your day and soak up the last bit of the holidays!

I make the same kind of candy but instead of Kisses and M&M’s I use the pretzel, then a rolo candy, then a pecan of top. Salty chocolate caramel all in one. Think I will try your version and my version this year for Christmas. Hope you have a Very Merry Christmas.
Melanie says
Oh my word, Rolos and pecans!?? That sounds amazing. I may just need to try your version now too. 😉
Jessica says
What a great and easy ‘baking’ idea for kids! Going to try it with my daughter this weekend. She loves to help ‘cook’.
Melanie says
I hope you enjoy them! I love this recipe because it makes kids feel like they’ve made something amazing, but they’re so simple to make! It keeps my sanity too. 😉
Tina@GottaRunNow says
These are fun to make. Easy, quick and fun to watch while they bake – can’t beat that!
Melanie says
I agree! It’s actually a little dangerous how quick and easy they are to make, lol.
Laurel @ Ducks in a Row says
You look darling – what a fun workout!
Melanie says
Thanks so much. It really is a fun workout! It goes quickly and gets the heart pumping. 😉
Kim says
I’m so glad that you have taken some time to just be and enjoy the season!!!
I think I’m going to make some of those pretzel treats for our Christmas day event – easy enough that I can handle it and have them made in advance!!
Melanie says
It really was so fun to just relax and have some Christmas fun with the kids. If you make them, I hope you love them. I think they would be a great thing for your event…easy and no stress!

Omg those look sooooo good and festive! I love them! I also love chocolate and pretzel combination. I love salt and chocolate. I made some homemade peanut butter dark chocolate cups and sprinkled some sea salt on top. I thought they were amazing and my mother- n- law didn’t like the salt! Weird!
Anyways those tribe sports look awesome too and love the Santa hat!! 🙂
Melanie says
I love salt and chocolate together too. It’s such a weird combination, but so amazingly good!
Tara@pnwrunner says
I totally made these last year as gift for my coworkers! They were a total hit and so easy to make! 🙂 looks like the kiddos had fun too!
Melanie says
I think they would be the perfect coworker gift! This was our first time making them and it was a lot of fun. 😉

Thanks! We loved them. 😉
Lauren @ Focused To Be Fit says
YES, love that combo and it’s such an easy one! I’m doing some baking tonight, but it always sounds better in theory until I do it and hate myself for the mess and the work. I could handle those!!
Melanie says
I know! I loved, loved, loved how simple, easy and non messy these were….except when I dropped the tray on the floor, lol.
Alex @ Kenzie Life says
That’s a really cool workout graphic! I love it! I might have to give that a try 🙂 Also, chocolate and pretzels is one of the best combinations out there! And your kids are adorable 🙂

I love these, but I usually do them with Rolos instead of kisses.
And now I use GF pretzels too.
Melanie says
I’ve had a lot of people tell me they’ve used Rolos. I think I need to try that version now. I’m so happy they have so many GF options now too!
Reginia {PoisedinPrint.com} says
One of my former students made these each time we had a holiday party; so simple and delicious.
Melanie says
I really loved the simplicity of these as well. They are so yummy!
Luv What You Do says
These are my favorite to make around the holidays with all the different kisses (especially the peppermint)! I was s excited to find circular pretzels this year!
Melanie says
I looked for circular pretzels, but couldn’t find them. I think these look so pretty with circle ones!
