Costco and Babybel Cheese

May 24, 20136 Comments

First things first….Happy Friday y’all!  I LOVE Fridays!  Woo hoo.

Secondly, I just need to say that I LOVE Costco SO much!  I buy so many wonderful things there!  They always have the top quality, great products and good deals.  Yay.

We went there the other day and I am now the proud owner of a new Shark Navigator Professional Vacuum!

Shark Navigator Professional

Our old vacuum died the other day. 🙁

So, I decided to ask my Facebook friends what kind of vacuum they would recommend.  Most of them recommended the Dyson, but a bunch of other people recommended the Shark.  I researched the Shark a little bit more and all of the reviews were great!

We saw this Shark Navigator Professional at Costco for $150 and since Dysons cost ~$500+, we thought we would give this cute little Shark a shot.

I’m happy to say that so far, it is awesome!!  I can tell it’s not as nice and solid as a Dyson, but it does a fantastic job of vacuuming!  My carpet has never looked better.  It also does a great job on my hard wood floors.  Yay!  It has some serious suction power and I love it!

So far, I’m very, very impressed.  The box also said that it “never loses suction”, so we’ll see ’bout that.  The vacuum head is a little small, but it can also fit into small places, which is nice.  Overall, I think this little vacuum is a great vacuum for the price.

We bought a bunch of other things at Costco that I love.  Here are a few of them…

Ground Turkey

Ground turkey!

It’s $2.79 a pound, which is pretty decent for 93% lean ground turkey.  I always buy a bunch and stock up so I always have it on hand.  I just use my food scale and separate it into ~1 pound increments and freeze the chunks in freezer bags.  It works out great.

Costco also has the best produce in the world!

Costco Produce

It’s seriously second to none.  The only produce I don’t love there is bananas.  For some reason, they never ripen well.  I’m also careful with the apples.  I love that they have a huge selection of organic apples, but sometimes they can be a little mushy.  We always check the apples to make sure they’re not mushy before we buy them.

The berries, oranges, grapes, spinach, carrots, peppers, onions, sweet potatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, etc. are the best ever.  If you already shop at Costco, you know what I’m talkin’ about.

I also love the great selection of “healthier” snacks that they have!

Costco Chips

All of these chips are SO tasty and way better than regular chips!  I still wouldn’t classify them as “healthy” and they certainly won’t help you lose weight, but they are a great option for a quick little snack.  All of the ingredients are “real” and I definitely feel better about feeding these to my kids instead of Cheetos.

Here’s a simple lunch I made today with some of my Costco stuff…

Random Healthy Lunch

We bought a giant rotisserie chicken there (only $5) and it was so good.  For lunch I had leftover chicken, strawberries, blueberries (they’re buried under there!), bananas (not from Costco, lol) and some celery.  Yum!

Moving on…

I got a fun package in the mail from Babybel cheese the other day…

Babybel cheese package

Inside was a cute lunchbox cooler full of the new Babybel Mozzarella cheese!

Inside Babybel Cheese package

I really love Babybel cheese and this new Mozzarella flavor is probably my favorite!  I also love how easy, convenient and fun it is to open!

Opening Babybel Cheese

My kids absolutely love it too.  My 3 year old is especially obsessed with Babybel.  In fact, shortly after I opened this package, I left the room for a minute.  When I came back, this is what I found…

And this…

Busted with the Babybel

Busted.

Too funny.

Babybel suggested several yummy Mozzarella pairings such as crackers, grape tomatoes, zucchini, nuts, figs and turkey pepperoni.  Yum.

I really like to have mine with a few crackers…

Or, I like to top my eggs with it.  I just throw it on top just before my eggs finish cooking…

Then I turn the heat off and stick a lid on the pan for about 30 seconds…

And voila, it’s perfectly melted and perfectly yummy…

I love that each little circle is only 50 calories too.

Awesome.

Well, that’s it!  Some fun Costco stuff and some yummy cheese!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Babybel cheese sent me this product for review, but the opinions expressed are (as always!) entirely my own.

Thanks for the feedback on the vacuum. Like many, my fiance would love a Dyson as well, and while it may be worth every penny, frankly it’s just not affordable. She must have asked around because the Shark is on our bridal registry from Bed Bath & Beyond. Have to see how much it is – and if we don’t get it as a gift, we’ll compare prices to Costco. Still don’t have a Costco membership yet, but Costco is 15 mins from where we live. The nearest Whole Foods is 25 mins, Earth Fare is 30 mins.

I completely agree with you about the Dyson. So far, I’m thrilled with the Shark and the price of it. I also absolutely LOVE Costco!! It has a huge selection of organic and ultra healthy items for a fraction of the price of Whole Foods and other health stores. I wish you all the best with your upcoming wedding! 😉

You definitely dodged a bullet with the Dyson. We are on our second and even this one now needs a new hose. For some reason they rip really easily and when you try to replace them the parts are never quite right.

Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that…but grateful we didn’t buy one. Thanks for the tip!
