Hello my darling stuck-at-home friends!
I gotta say, this is by far the craziest time I’ve ever been in in my life. It’s not the busiest, not the most stressful, not the hardest….but it IS the craziest!
About a month ago, we had a 5.7 Earthquake here in Utah. This is not a typical thing for Utah and a bunch of people have been very anxious about it. For some reason, I haven’t felt worried about it, just curious.
Anyway, we felt several smaller aftershocks for a week or two afterward. We hadn’t felt any aftershocks for a little while and then in the past two days we’ve had TWO 4.2 aftershocks!
The aftershock we had this morning woke my daughter up!
My mother, who is almost 80, said she’s felt more earthquakes this past month than she’s felt in her entire life.
Oh, and not to mention, there was also a bigger earthquake (6.5!) up in Idaho (about 8 hours north of us) a couple weeks ago. This is not a typical thing for Idaho either.
Oh, and we didn’t actually feel that earthquake, but when it hit, I was sitting in our family room with Kev and my daughter and we saw our big heavy chandelier swinging. Kev said, “That only happens when there’s an earthquake!” Shortly afterward, we heard about the earthquake in Idaho….that happened at the exact time our chandelier was swingin’.
Sooooo weird.
Oh and today, on April 16th, it is snowing here in Utah.
Aaaaaand, we’re all in a worldwide pandemic that is unprecedented!
It’s really all frightening and comical all at the same time!

My daughter and I went to Walmart the other day, which is about the most exciting thing we do nowadays, and it’s just so interesting to me that wearing a mask has become normal-ish….
My darling friend made those masks for our family and I’m so grateful.
We made Chocolate Chip Cookies last night for emotional therapy. 🙂
Chocolate Chip cookies are my kids’ favorite homemade treat and they ask me to make them all the time!
We don’t make them too often, but I gotta say, I think they are worth every calorie! They are so good. You can click here for my recipe if you so desire. My two sisters make this recipe all the time too and say it’s their family’s favorite recipe too!
Oh, and I got some Easter M&Ms on clearance and added them to the cookies. It made them so pretty and yummy!
I snapped this picture last night with two of my kidlets, my 16 year old son and my 19 year old daughter.
We were all laughing so hard…..this is our form of cheap entertainment!
This is an interesting time of life, for sure!
