Hello friends and Happy Friday!
I hope you are all doing well amidst all of the crazy in the world right now. Wow, the news has made my heart feel so heavy this past week or so.
However, as I’ve read a lot of personal experiences, thoughts and opinions of so many, it’s really opened my eyes and touched my heart. I definitely believe that changes need to be made in our country and in our world. We can all do better and BE better.
I’ve never considered myself to be a prejudiced or racist person. I really try to look at and love people just how they are, regardless of skin color, religion, sexuality, political affiliation, interests, etc. I just try to LOVE people!
However, as I’ve watched the events of this past week+ unfold, I’ve looked inward and asked myself how I can do better. I really want to listen and learn and keep my heart and mind open so I can really change. I know I can love more, be kinder, be more bold and live life more purposefully!
Ya know, in my heart of hearts I really believe that the events that have gone on in 2020 so far have been GOOD for us.
Yes, it’s hard.
Yes, it’s inconvenient.
Yes, it can be uncomfortable.
Yes, it’s scary.
Yes, it’s confusing and doesn’t make a lot of sense sometimes.
Yes, it’s different.
But, this is where change happens. When life is hard and unpredictable, it forces us to look inside and see what changes we need to make.
When we just live life day after day doin’ the same thing, livin’ the status quo….nothing changes! We become comfy and okay with mediocre or just going through the motions.
Trials and hard times in the world and in our own personal lives teach us to be strong. To be resilient. To be better.
Personal growth is hard, but man it’s so good for us!
Over the past several months, I’ve seen a lot of quotes that have touched my heart. I thought I would share some of them here. I hope they can touch your heart as well.
I especially think this quote by Martin Luther King Jr. is so powerful. He was such a tremendous man who did so much good in the world.
I also have a lot of respect for Fred Rogers. I think he was ahead of his time as well and made such an impact. He always showed so much love, kindness and respect to everyone.
I’m grateful for this opportunity we all have grow, change, learn, listen and strive to be better.

Well, I thought I’d share a few fun things we’ve done this week. My sister suggested we get together once a week throughout the summer and hang out and let the kids play.
So far, we’ve had a lot of fun! This week we went up to Get Air (indoor trampoline park.)
We almost had the place all to ourselves! It was so fun!
My sister and I sat in the massage chairs and had a mini massage while the kids jumped around….
It was nice! Whoever decided to put massage chairs in there was super smart. Ha ha.
Afterward, we headed to my sister’s house, had lunch and played games.

Earlier this week, I took four of my boys to Gardner Village to go on a fairy hunt.
Gardner Village is a darling shopping area full of quaint little shops, a lot of which are made from old historic buildings that were transferred there. The environment really is magical and they do so many fun things throughout the year!
Anyway, although my boys weren’t particularly excited to search for fairies, they had a great time and enjoyed it!
They had fairies A-Z scattered throughout the village and each fairy had a clue to help you find the next fairy. It was a lot of fun. BTW, the fairy themed stuff goes until the end of the month, so if you’re in the Salt Lake area, go there! It’s fun and free!

I’m also super happy to say I went to the gym this week! It’s been over 2 1/2 months since I’ve been and it felt so good to be there!
The gym felt mostly normal. I went to one of my favorite classes. There were about 12-13 people in the class and there are usually 20-25. It still felt pretty normal though!
We all cleaned and washed the equipment before and after class.
I was just so happy to be there, to get a good workout in and to be around other people! Yay!

I also thought I’d share our yummy Sunday dinner! Throughout this whole quarantine thang, Kev and I have really enjoyed making lots of yummy food on Sundays!
This week, Kev smoked a BBQ chicken, baked potatoes and broccoli on the Traeger. Everything was so so so good!
I also baked up some sourdough bread that I got at Costco.
This bread is bomb folks. It’s shelf stable for several months and it tastes so good! I just bake it (or more like warm it) in the oven for 10 minutes and it tastes like fresh baked bread. All of my kids love it!
I love our Sunday dinners!
Well, that’s all that’s goin’ on around here lately.
I hope you are all doing well and enjoying your summer! I love you all. Really, I do. xoxo
Leave a comment....I would love to hear from you!
