I have had the craziest workout week! My favorite gym instructor (I go to her class twice a week) has been on vacation and my schedule’s been so crazy that I’ve had to miss some of my regular classes.
But, whenever I can’t make one of my regular classes, I always try to go to a different class. So, this past week I’ve tried a lot of new classes! I’ve decided I still love all my regular classes the best! Seriously, my instructors have got to be some of the best instructors on the planet. No kidding.
FYI, if you happen to live in the Salt Lake Valley and you’re a Gold’s Gym member, you need to go to any class taught by Lisa, Michelle or Sarah! They are the BEST! I also love Robyn too, but I haven’t been able to go to her class for a while. 🙁
Last week, I went to a new Boot Camp class with a new instructor. It was a little funky, but still a good workout. However, when we were warming up the instructor had us do a bunch of “Ballet type” moves. It was really funny. We had to stand on our tippy toes on one leg while pulling the other leg behind us as high as we could. We did several other moves like that. I felt bad for the men in the class who thought they were going to Boot Camp. Lol. It ended up being a good workout, but man was it funky!
My life should be calming down a bit next week. School is starting up again, and I must say, I’m ready for summer to be over. I’m looking forward to a little more structure and productivity ’round here.

I thought I would share a very yummy Protein Shake recipe I’ve been making lately. It’s a Spinach, Watermelon, Chia Seed shake! It might sound a little weird, but it is really yummy!
We had watermelon for dinner last week, so I thought I would use the rest of it in Protein Shakes! I’ve made this shake 3-4 times and I love it! It’s really refreshing. It’s the kind of shake I’d love to drink while laying in the sun and reading a magazine. I will tell you though, this shake it HUGE (I filled the glass in the pic below 4 times!) It fills me up and then some!
So, here’s the recipe…
- 1 C. Unsweetened Almond Milk (or other milk/water)
- 1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
- 1 T. Chia Seeds
- a splash of Vanilla Extract
- 2 C. Watermelon; cubed
- 2 big handfuls baby spinach
- 7-8 Ice Cubes
Throw everything except the ice into the blender.
Mix well. Add the ice and mix again.
Enjoy! It’s not gross…I promise!
Love y’all!!
