Well, I’m startin’ to feel the Sunday night blues. 🙁
I love the productivity of Mondays, I just don’t like Sunday nights. Sigh.
Anyway, we had a fun weekend. Kev and I went out on a much needed date Friday night. We’ve been so busy lately, that date nights have been pretty sparse.
We went to Cafe Rio for dinner. I love that place! It’s a fun (always busy!) Mexican restaurant with awesome food. I ordered the Pork Barbacoa Salad (my fav!) and it’s just so so so good. When I’m trying to be ultra healthy, I order the grilled chicken salad, but because the pork salad is freaking awesome….I decided I needed it. 😉
This is how I ordered it….
Whole wheat tortilla (instead of white), no rice, black beans, double lettuce, pico de gallo, guac, cilantro and no tortilla strips. I did drizzle just a bit of their amazingly awesome dressing on the top. I don’t think it needs too much though because there are so many flavorful things already in there.
This salad is the bomb. I usually only eat 1/4 of the tortilla but it tasted especially awesome so I had about 1/2 of it. These salads are also so huge I usually eat half and take half home. Love it.
I gotta say, the only thing that bugs me about Cafe Rio is they don’t post their nutritional information. I hate it when restaurants do that! I even emailed them once to request it….no response. Lame.
I still love them though.
Oh, Kev ordered the chicken tacos. They looked yummy and he loved them.
Ya know, at times I feel a little dorky taking pictures of our food in public places. Lol. People probably think we’re a little strange….or that we’re a little too enthusiastic about our food!
After dinner, we went to see Snow White and the Huntsman.
I was excited to see it because I love Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth…especially Chris Hemsworth.
Day-ang! I just love him. I love his accent and I just love him. I loved him as Thor too. Note: I just googled him and he is only 28! Who knew?! I thought he was older.
I’m officially a pedophile.
Overall, it was a pretty decent show. I didn’t love it, but it was entertaining. Charlize Theron was amazingly awesome. She is an incredible actor and looked absolutely stunning. I did think it was a little dark and seemed to drag a bit, but it was still worth watching. The end was rather lame though.
We had a fun night. I love going to dinner and a movie with my favorite person! I hope you all had a fun weekend as well.
xoxo.

Love Cafe Rio salads too! I always order the tostada, but ask for a soft tortilla (can do wheat) instead of the crunchy shell. What I get is a small salad. Awesome, and the portions are not out of control.

Oh my gosh Tamra, that sounds awesome! What a good idea. I’m definitely going to try that next time. Thanks for the tip. Love it.
