Well the craziness of the last couple weeks is about to end. My brother left home for Georgia yesterday and my little sis is leaving back home to Connecticut tomorrow. 🙁 I will miss them so much, but it will be good to get back into a normal healthy groove once again.

My parent’s are going to be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary next week! All of my siblings and I threw a fun little anniversary party for them last Saturday. It was so wonderful and nice to see so many family members, friends and long lost relatives. It was great.
We also had the opportunity to take plenty of pictures and we even arranged to have a picture taken of the whole entire family; my parents, 7 kids, spouses and 33 grandkids!
We had a wonderful weekend!

I have been SUCH A PIG the past couple weeks. It’s been fun, but it’s amazing how quickly my body blows up! I guess that’s what happens when I’m hit and miss (mostly miss) on exercise and I eat whatever the heck I want, huh? I think I’m up about 5 pounds (so lame) and I just feel very bloated and chubby. In fact, the jeans I wore for our big family picture are usually loose on me, but I felt like I was poured into them. Super lame.
Soooo, I’m using my chubbiness as motivation to get back to work! I’ve been trying to get back into a healthy eating pattern again and I’ve even decided to do a fun “100 days without sugar” challenge starting August 1st (Thursday). It will be so good for me.
I’ve also been getting back into my typical exercise routine again. I went to my favorite Boot Camp class at the gym last night and I just about died! It was a great class, but I’ve been SO SORE today. We did a bunch of squats and lunges and I’m definitely feelin’ them. I also went on a fun run this morning with my sweet little dog, Jim.
I was recently sent a fun package from Purina Dog Chow. It’s a package full of things to help your dog to be healthy. Love it.
It was so cute and included Purina Dog Chow Light and Healthy, a dog pedometer, a dog bowl, leash, doggie water bottle and a cute bandana.
So fun! I decided to take Jimmy on a run this morning so we could use some of these things. I got him all duded up in the little bandana and pedometer…
The pedometer was HUGE on him, but it is very light so it didn’t seem to bother him. I also tested out the cute doggie water bottle before we left and he loved it…
I really love that water bottle. It will be great to take to the park, road trips or on hikes too.
Anyway, I took Jim on a short mile and a half run. He was so excited and did great! After the mile and a half, I went back home and chilled with Jimmy on the front steps for a bit…
I also checked his pedometer…
I don’t even know what’s good for a doggie pedometer or if this was even accurate, but I thought 4000+ steps wasn’t too shabby. 😉
After I chilled with Jim for a bit, I left him home (so sad) while I finished my run. He wasn’t too happy about it…
I ran another 3 miles; so 4.5 miles total. It was actually a little bit of a hard run for me. I was very sore from my Bootcamp class and my legs just felt very heavy and tired! It wasn’t a terrible run, but I definitely didn’t feel very fast, strong or awesome. I’m so glad I went though! I have never regretted a run.
Well, I gotta go make dinner so I better jam! I hope you are all happy and healthy! xoxo
Purina sent me the complimentary “healthy dog package”, but the opinions expressed are (as always!) entirely my own. 😉

You have a beautiful family. Love the cut out of parents. What a cool idea!

Thanks so much! My brother came up with the “life-size cutout” idea and it was so much fun.
