I’m so sorry my last post was kind of winey and complain-y! Sometimes I just have to vent, especially about my pregnant frustrations.
Even though I feel giant, bloated and physically challenged, I’m still very grateful I’m ABLE to be pregnant and will have a sweet little baby joining us shortly. It really is a miracle and I know I’m so blessed to have so many healthy children.
I also have to say that I have deflated a little bit the past couple days. I’ve kept my diet mostly clean and healthy and I’ve definitely noticed the water weight coming off. YAY! In fact, on Monday night I woke up FOUR TIMES in the night to go to the bathroom (TMI, I know!) Yes, it was so annoying, but I was glad my body was responding and de-bloating.
I told you guys last month that I’ve noticed my body still seems to go through hormonal cycles (kind of like PMS) even though I’m pregnant.
Yes, it’s weird.
I’ve been keeping track of those cycles (mega hunger, orneriness, weight gain, bloatedness, etc.) and this past week coincides perfectly with my weird “PMS type schedule.” Isn’t that weird?!
I’ll have to remember next month when I feel ornery and my body blows up, to just chill out and let it go. We’ll see.
Anyway, moving on.
I actually had a nice, relaxing day today. I started my morning off with some yummy Oats in a Jar!
This Dark Chocolate Skippy Natural Peanut Butter made it especially tasty and chocolatey!
Later on my daughter gave us both pedicures with her lovely gel nail set….
She did a very good job and ya can’t beat the price!
I’ve decided my daughter and I have very similar feet, except hers are younger, skinnier and less pregnant than mine! Can you tell whos who? I don’t think it’s very hard to tell, dang it.
Later on I made some Annie’s Mac and Cheese for the kiddos for lunch…
I still don’t consider it to be a “health food,” but I think it’s a lot better than the other options out there! It also helps to make my life simpler. I’m also happy that Costco now sells Annie’s in big 12 packs. Woo hoo!
For some reason I wasn’t too hungry at lunch time, so I made myself some warm lemon water and it hit the spot!
I prefer to have my lemon water first thing in the morning, but it’s also refreshing any time!
I actually feel a little bit grody (yes, I still use that word) tonight, so I’m going to keep dinner simple. I’m also planning on taking a nice hot bath and going to bed early. Doesn’t that sound nice? I think so.
I also wanted to mention that I went to a wonderful class at the gym last night with my friend. I seriously DID NOT feel like going, but I hauled my bee-hind there and I’m so glad I did. My friend and I both thought the class seemed harder than usual. It was awesome.
Before I left, I made my kids some Homemade Taco Bell quesadillas (their request!) I was just not feeling the quesadilla vibe (and I wanted to eat something healthier), so I fixed myself some leftovers when I got home…
I just pulled out some leftover grilled chicken and made a yummy salad. It hit the spot!
I’ve decided apples and avocados are some of my favorite things EVER to put on a salad. YUM!
Later on, I was craving something sweet, so this is what I came up with…
YUM! I may or may not have had seconds. Hee hee. I seriously LOVE peanut butter and chocolate together.
Well, I need to go pick my kiddos up from Track practice so I gotta jam! I hope you all have a fantastic night! Tomorrow is already Thursday (weekend Eve!) Woo hoo!

Spoonfuls of peanut butter are my kryptonite. Sprinkling chocolate on it looks amazing.

Haha! There is no mistaking young pre-teen feet, although your feet don’t at all look swollen. She did a great job on the pedi. I know you feel blessed for your beautiful family, and don’t worry. Although we should be grateful we all need to vent at times. It’s healthy and human. I have leftover chicken breast and will try that salad tomorrow.
Melanie says
Thanks so much! It’s sad to see my feet looking older (who knew!?) and bigger. Sigh. I hope you enjoyed your chicken salad. YUM!

One of my favorite pictures of myself and my daughter was after she gave us both mani-pedis one day. Sweet memory! Aren’t daughters and pedicures both wonderful?
I love how you call Thursday weekend eve. I’m going to call it that tomorrow at work to lift everyone up and make us all feel happier!

I’m so grateful to have a daughter, especially one who loves girly things like me!
I LIVE for the weekend, so anything I can do to make it come quicker makes me happy. 😉

Home pedicures are so much fun!
What class did you go to at the gym? I re-read that paragraph to see if you mentioned the class just in case I missed it but couldn’t find it. 🙂
PB and chocolate is one of my favorite combos! Yum!!

I just went to a muscle-type class at the gym. It’s basically an allover strength class with short bursts of cardio mixed in. It’s great and always kills me!

Omgoodness! just caught up on your posts-I love it! You look so good! And do not look huge at all! Now I want to go get one of the gel polish kits!! And I reeeeeally want to eat Oats in a Jar next time we run out of PB! 🙂 keep on working hard and it’s awesome how bodies can adjust to our dietary changes. Way to go, Melanie!
Melanie says
Thanks so much!! My daughter has loved her gel polish kit and it looks so much prettier than regular polish. I’m always a fan of Oats in a Jar and always get so excited when we finish up a jar of PB! 😉

Ok, I used to dip a spoon of peanut butter into chocolate chips all the time too. It is so good! Actually, I still do it from time to time, but use dark chocolate instead. Your daughter’s feet are so pretty and perfect, I’m jealous, lol! I agree with you too, apples and avocados, 2 of my favorite foods!!
Melanie says
PB and chocolate = heaven! I told my daughter what you said about her feet and she thought that was so nice!
