Well I hope you are all doing well out there!
We are still pluggin’ along. I’m happy to say that school started for my kids this week! I’m sure you would all agree, this has been the strangest summer break and the strangest going back to school time ever!?
Funny thing, even though we’re all so sick of this pandemic, I was actually a little sad to send my kiddos back to school! I’ve just really enjoyed them being home with me. It’s been so nice.
However, I am very happy they are back in school. I think they’re happy as well. They’re enjoying the normalcy and we’ve all enjoyed the structure, productivity and purpose as well.
I always snap a picture of the kids on the first day of school. This year I have a Junior in high school….
I have a 7th grader, which is the first year of middle school. Gasp!
I’m actually really not loving the fact that this baby of mine is in Middle School! He is just such a sweetie pie and I feel like I’m sending him off to the wolves, lol. I also can’t accept the fact that he’s not going into like 4th or 5th grade.
These kids just grow up so fast and it feels like time is speeding up!
I also have a sweet 5th grader this year….
I really can’t believe he’s in 5th grade either! It just blows my mind and aches my heart.
My little 6 year old starts Kindergarten next week and I really don’t know how I will be able to handle it!
He just barely turned 6 and I decided to hold him back and not send him to Kindergarten last year…..so I know I cannot complain sending him off this year. Sniff, sniff.
I know these kiddos must grow up and it’s good for them! I just seem to have serious issues and need to learn to accept reality and allow them to grow up!
Sigh.
Nevertheless, it is good for us all to be back to the school routine and back to any routine at all!

We had a couple birthdays the past couple weeks. Kev turned 49 and in all seriousness, I don’t know how in the heck that even happened!??
So, along with the kids growing up way too fast, I think Kev and I are also growing up way too fast! Ugh.
My youngest baby also turned six last week….
He is a huge dog lover and wanted a “dog cake” for his birthday! I did my best, ha ha!
Oh, and speaking of how quickly these babies grow up, I actually shared the birth story of my last little baby on here several years ago and it doesn’t feel like it was that long ago! You can read it here if you care to. 🙂

My brother who lives in Georgia was also in town for a few days, so we enjoyed spending time with him. We played games, ate good food and laughed and laughed and laughed!
I’m so grateful for my family!
Here’s another picture of my sisters and I from earlier this month when my little sister was in town….
And here’s a sweet, but funny pic of my favorite dog….
This picture cracks me up because it looks like he is actually posing and smiling for this picture! Ha ha.
Oh how I love this sweet little pup.

Well as far as health and fitness goes….it’s still going! I’m so happy to be able to go the gym. In these crazy quarantine times, it feels so good to be somewhere that feels somewhat normal.
Although, when I left the gym the other day, I laughed as I realized how crazy I feel leaving the gym in a mask….
Such interesting times we’re livin’ in!
As far as my exercise regime goes, I’ve been enjoying teaching three classes a week on Facebook Live.
I teach a strength training class on Monday morning and a HIIT class on Wednesday morning on a private Facebook page with my friends in the neighborhood.
I’ve also still been teaching a class every Friday morning at 9:00 AM on my Happy Being Healthy Facebook page. Anyone is welcome to join me! I teach different classes each week; sometimes HIIT, sometimes upper body, sometimes lower body, sometimes full body strength training….whatever I’m feelin’ like doing!
I have quite a few different workouts on there now and you can access them any time!
I’m sure grateful for modern technology, especially in these crazy pandemic times. It’s nice to sort of “see” real live people. Ha ha.
That’s another reason why I love going to classes at the gym. It just feels so good to be around other people!
I also want to mention that I’m in the process of organizing another Health Challenge. It will start on Monday, September 7th and any of you are welcome to join! It goes for six weeks, we focus on six main healthy habits and you can add any other habits you want to work on.
It will be fun and I’d love any of you to do it with me that want to! It’s free! I will finish organizing it in the next few days and I will share the information on here and on my social media.
I don’t know about y’all, but I could sure use some motivation right about now!

I also want to share one last thought with y’all. We planted a peach tree in our yard last year. We got a lot of peaches last year, but sadly our tree froze this year.
Kev tried to cover it so it wouldn’t freeze, but sadly it still froze. BUT, interestingly enough, we had ONE peach that grew and survived!
It was the most beautiful peach ever and we actually just ate it today.
I almost felt bad eating it, but then I realized we were helping it reach it’s full potential! Ha.
Anyway, the reason I tell you about this peach is that as cheesy as it may sound, it was so inspiring to me to watch it grow!
Kev and I were both so surprised when we found it and saw it was growing. I loved watching it grow throughout the summer. I always thought of it like a warrior.
It’s quite amazing that no other peaches grew and that even though the whole tree froze, this single peach found a way to survive and thrive!
It reminds me of so many lessons we learn in life.
When life is hard, we need to find our strength, faith, hope and courage. Just like this peach, when everything around you freezes and the conditions seem rather bleak….you need to shine, grow, blossom and bloom right where you are planted.
You can thrive amid daunting circumstances. It all depends on your outlook. your mindset and your faith.
I know we are all much stronger than we think we are!
Well, I sure hope you are all doing well out there! Always remember to find your own strength and look for the good all around you! xoxo
