I’m so excited to EAT FRUIT today! Wahoo!
I’ve been on a “healthy cleanse” diet the past couple of weeks and today we get to add in fruit. I’m so happy about it. 🙂
I’m sorry to say the first fruit I ate was half of an overripe banana. Ewww.
I ate my typical (weird healthy cleanse) breakfast this morning; eggs + chicken and guac. I didn’t take a pic today, but here’s a pic from a couple days ago,
This breakfast is actually very tasty, albeit very unorthodox!
After breakfast, I went to my 9:00 class at the gym. It’s the same class I go to on Saturday morning and it is SO HARD. Freak! Even though I go to this class twice a week, I’m always amazed by HOW HARD IT IS. Man!
In fact, I told Kev the other day that I’ve decided I hate this class. Hate is a strong word, but I kind of really do. I love the instructor and I’m so grateful she works every single muscle in my whole entire body to a pulp, but I really dread the class.
In fact, on Saturday she literally killed me. We did a million one-legged dead lifts and then about 900,000 forward lunges while holding dumbbells and then bending forward and tapping the dumbbells on the floor near the foot with each lunge (I don’t know what in the heck this move is called, sorry!) We seriously spent about 15-20 minutes just doing different variations of these two moves. I was dying.
Needless to say, I’ve barely been able to walk the past two days. Holy crap. I wince every time I sit down or walk down the stairs. It’s pretty awesome.
Soooo, even though the class is HARD, I’m grateful I’m able to go. The instructor often says things like, “You guys want this class to be hard!” and “If it was easy, you wouldn’t come!”
Very true. I still kind of hate it though. 😉
Anyway, after my workout I ate my overripe half banana. I also had a couple protein balls. Yum.
Here’s what I ate for lunch,
A random protein shake (1 C. unsweetened almond milk, 1 scoop vanilla protein, 1 spoonful natural peanut butter, 1 tsp. or so honey, a little almond extract, 2 big handfuls spinach and ice!) with a few peach and pear slices. The pear was heavenly, but the peach….not so much. 🙁 Fresh peaches are one of my favorite fruits, but it seems hard to find ones that are juicy, sweet and flavorful! I think I just need to buy a peach tree!
Well, other than that I’ve just been snacking on more protein balls (I seriously have a problem!) and the other half of my banana!

I gotta quickly share a few pics from last night. My kids begged me to make chocolate chip cookies! Dang. I decided to make them AND make a batch of “legal” peanut butter cookies for Kev and I.
I really wanted to eat the cookies on the left (I did steal a tiny bit of the dough!), but the cookies on the right were quite tasty. I especially love and crave treats on Sunday nights. It’s tough.
I also enjoyed a yummy salad last night. It’s so funny, but whenever I sit down to eat a salad lately, I immediately have a “best friend” right next to me! Yes, my sweet little two year old is a salad lover! He used to just pick the olives out of my salad, but now he asks for the “leaves.” It’s so cute.
He scooted his chair right next to mine. I love this kid!
Well, I need to go figure out what in the heck we’re having for dinner tonight! I’m also looking forward to watching the last Presidential Debate! I’ve been a little bit of an election addict. It will be nice when it’s all over….as long as “my guy” wins! 😉
Have a wonderful night! xoxo

You know Dr Oz posted on Facebook that he was on a cleanse, too! 🙂

I didn’t know that! I need to follow him on Facebook and look into his cleanse. I love Dr. Oz!

We are big on the debates, too. This election could cost my husband his job – if “our guy” doesn’t win! (wink, wink)

I’m so glad you and I like the same “guy!” I’m so sorry about your husband’s job. So scary! If “our guy” wins, it will seriously help my husband’s job too. He works in finance and investments and I hate to think what will happen to our economy and stock market if things don’t work out! I’m optimistic things WILL work out though!

My three year old loves salads, too. She refers to them as “leaves and/or trees.” Some of the mixed greens have “trees” in them. She’s gotten so bad, that I make her up a little side salad – otherwise, she’ll have her hands in my salad bowl and it drives me nuts.

That’s awesome!! It’s so nice when kids love healthy food! My two oldest love salad too, but my other two won’t touch it!
