Happy Hump Day + Cute Ellie Clothes

June 5, 20132 Comments

Happy Hump Day to y’all!  It actually feels like Friday to me because today’s the last day of school for my kiddos!

Yikes!

Uhhh, I mean Yay!

I’m actually ready for the summer break.  It will be nice to slow down a bit (hopefully) and not have to worry about all the “school stuff.”

*********************

I went to Costco last night and stocked up on a bunch of yummy things.

Yummy fruit from Costco

The berries and grapes looked especially good AND they were all great prices!  Love it.

In fact, when I asked my 5 year old what he wanted for breakfast this morning, he said, “I just want all that yummy fruit from Costco!”

Sooooo, I made him a little fruit bowl and he was a happy camper.

I decided to make my own fruity breakfast too!  I had a bunch of fruit along with a small vanilla Chobani yogurt…

I also thought it would be nice to enjoy my breakfast outside on the deck this morning.  Pretty soon, I had a little “breakfast buddy.”

He said, “I want some of your food mama!”

Sooo, I mixed it all together and let him have at it.  He gobbled up about half of it!

When I finally got my breakfast back, my sweet dog Jimmer decided he wanted to “share” my water too…

Jim drinking my water

Ummmm, ya.  I had a nice cold tall cup of water on the deck next to me and Jimmy decided to help himself.  I had to laugh.

And, I decided to just let him have the rest.

I’m such a giver, lol.

*******************

I took the kids to The Brick Oven for lunch after school to celebrate summer!  It was so yummy, but I think I ate a little too much pizza!  It was fabulous.

I also intended to take some pictures, but my little kids were being crazy!

Holy Hannah.

I was reminded why I don’t take all 5 kids to a sit-down restaurant all by myself too often. 😉

*********************

We had Taco Soup and breadsticks for dinner last night.

Taco Soup

All of my kids enjoy Taco Soup, which surprises me!  It tastes so good, but it doesn’t look particularly kid friendly.

We love to top ours with a little cheese, lite sour cream and crushed tortilla chips.  I passed on the chips this time though.  I also love to top mine with avocado, but we didn’t have any. 🙁

The breadsticks are the best ever….

Yummy breadsticks

They are not healthy at all, but they are super easy to make and so DANG good.  I found the recipe on Pinterest a while back, but the site it linked to is no longer available, dang it.  Thankfully, I have a copy of the recipe.

I was in a hurry last night, so I didn’t take any pictures of the breadstick making process.  I will make them again, take pictures and share the recipe with y’all soon!

I got some cute clothes from Ellie that I’ve been wanting to share with you guys!  I got them a while ago, but haven’t put them on the blog yet.

Cute Ellie Clothes

The capris (Electric Love Capri) are from the “Love, Ellie” collection and the black long sleeved top (Night Rider Long Sleeve) is from the “Little Black Collection.”

I love them both SO much!

Check out the cute detail on these capris…

Cute Ellie leggings

They are also super soft, comfortable and fit perfectly!

I also love, love, love this shirt.

Cute Ellie running shirt

It’s longer length, which I love, and it is so soft!  I also love the cute thumb holes.  It is such a great basic running shirt.

Me in Ellie Clothes

I love both of these pieces so much!  I must say that colored leggings are not quite as forgiving as black leggings, lol.  I love, love, love the color and fit though.

I love the thumb holes on this top…

You can also fold the sleeve back and turn it into little mittens.  I LOVE that feature!

I was thrilled to receive both of these pieces!

Melanie, I’ve ordered a bunch of Ellie stuff. I was afraid to order the blue pants you have… As they are seamless. Did they seem okay – being seamless??? I like the long sleeve shirt… Will be great for cool morning run or winter months. I’ve matched up some Lululemon tanks with the Ellie pants. Most of the Ellie shirts have a shelf bra – and fit me a little too snug for running. I sweat too much!

I will definitely try the taco soup. I love Mexican food. Thank you for sharing the recipe. ~ Jeanne. (Let me know about the seamless part… You can email me if you want)

Jeanne, overall I’ve really loved them. They are super comfortable, soft and fit perfectly. However, because they are seamless I think they aren’t as forgiving. They are very form fitting, but I think even if I got a size larger, they would still be just as form fitting. I definitely won’t be wearing them on “poofy bloated” days, lol. I love them, they fit great, but keep in mind that they are very fitted!
