Well I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day yesterday! We actually had a nice, low-key day and I was able to get a lot of “to-do’s” done. Woo hoo!
I started Month THREE of my #OxyChallenge yesterday, so I decided to get a bunch of meal prep done so I will be ready!!
I know this picture isn’t pretty or particularly appetizing, but I’m happy to have all of this made and ready to eat!
I made some Egg White Veggie “Muffins” and they turned out great. I also cooked up some quinoa, which I’m going to make into a breakfast casserole today (similar recipe as my Quinoa Vegetable Scramble except it’s baked instead of cooked on the stove.) I also made a bunch of grilled chicken and some Cauliflower Potatoes for dinner last night. I intentionally made a bunch so I could enjoy the leftovers for a few days.
I had it with some leftover salad (that’s why the avocados are brown!) It tasted really good to me. Yes, I’m the leftover queen; it simplifies my life and makes healthy eating SO MUCH easier!
I also cooked up some tacos for the kids last night. They love tacos (and they’re super easy to make!) and I kind of wanted to hoard my chicken and cauliflower and not share with them. Ha. I will now hoard the leftover taco meat to add to my salads or to cook up with some veggies. Yay.
I was also able to make it to the gym yesterday, but I didn’t go until 9:00 last night! I haven’t been to the gym at night in a very long time and it was actually kind of nice. There weren’t a lot of people there and I had most of the equipment all to myself. ALL of the squat racks were free, which is unusual. I was grateful. It was “leg day” and I’m feelin’ them today! Love it.
I also just got back from the gym tonight. I worked back and chest and it was great. I’m also planning on going on a quick run in just a bit. Yay.
I snapped some selfies at the gym yesterday and today. I seriously DO NOT love taking selfies! It’s also a little bit stressful to take them at the gym because someone could walk in at any moment! BUT I take them anyway because I think it’s fun to track and document my progress. Woot.

Well, I wanted to tell you guys about some of my experiences I’ve had with Massage Envy lately. In July and August, I visited Massage Envy for a facial.
I took part in the Summer Glow event they had going on. In July I got $10 off my facial and in August I got a lot of fun skincare samples.
It was so great! I will mention that I have a Massage Envy prepaid membership, but facials are usually an additional $10. So, I didn’t have to pay the $10 in July because of the Summer Glow event. Yay.
I’d never had a facial before and Oh My Word, it was heavenly!!! I’m officially addicted. I loved my esthetician too! She was so sweet and made me feel very comfortable.
When I first got there, I undressed from the waist up and then got myself situated underneath the sheet on the massage table…
This room was so serene, calming and peaceful. Seriously, I felt my stress level decrease just being in there. The lighting was perfectly dimmed, there was soft instrumental music playing and my esthetition asked if I wanted the bed heated. Of course, I said yes!
She then turned on a little steamer thing (you can see it in the picture above; it’s that thing with the blue light on the end) and set it near my face. It felt so nice to have warm steam on my face. I could literally feel my pores opening and all the junk on/in my face magically disappearing. Ha.
There are four different types of facials that Massage Envy offers. They are Environmental Shield Vitamin C, Clarifying Enzyme Acne, Anti-Aging and Sensitive Skin…
I chose to have the Anti-Aging Facial and I loved it so much!
My esthetician first gently removed my makeup and then cleansed and massaged my face. The steam was still going and this felt wonderful. She then used warm towels on my face to remove the cleansers. It felt SO NICE!
She also put some Glycolic Acid on my face and let it “work” while she massaged my arm and hand. The Glycolic Acid stung a little bit, but strangely, it felt good. It felt like it was getting rid of all of the dead skin cells on my face. My skin felt so clean and smooth.
My esthetician applied an anti-aging mask and then massaged my other arm and hand. She also massaged my scalp and neck. It was so so relaxing. I felt like I was in another world and it was so nice to escape for a little bit.
She used warm towels several times to cleanse my face between treatments. She also took some time to look at my skin and let me know what she thought. I was surprised and happy that she told me I had minimal sun damage and very few wrinkles! Yay! She also told me she was amazed by how soft my skin was (maybe she was just being nice to me, but it made me happy anyway!) I also asked her about the few breakouts I get on my chin. After looking at them, she said it looked more hormonal instead of topical. That made sense to me! She suggested I ask my doctor about my hormone levels to determine if it’s affecting my skin. It was very helpful to get her “take” on my skin.
She ended the facial with a calming moisturizer and it felt so so so good! I was so sad when she told me my facial was over. I asked her if we could just start over and do it all again! Ha!
Afterward, I decided to purchase the Anti-Aging Healthy Skin Regimen products to try at home. This picture includes the kit I purchased along with all of the free samples they gave me for taking part in their Summer Glow event.
Here’s another look of all of the products…
I have to admit that I haven’t tried these products at home yet. I’m a little OCD and want to finish up the products I’m already using! I can’t wait to try these out though and I’ll make sure to let you all know what I think!
I took a before and after picture to share with you guys! Yes, I look freaky in my “after” picture, but my skin felt SO soft, clean and refreshed!
Overall, I LOVED my experience at Massage Envy and my facial. It was such a treat! It really was the ultimate pampering, relaxing, stress relieving escape. I can’t wait to go again!
**I was given the complimentary Massage Envy Membership, but the opinions and text are all my own! I have been LOVING my experiences with Massage Envy! #MEUtah #ReliefStartsRightHere #MassageEnvyUtah
