Do you need some extra motivation???
Ya, me too….especially this time of year!
Geesh.
Let me tell you why I need some extra motivation this week….
EXHIBIT A:
We made candy houses up at my parent’s house on Sunday. It’s SO MUCH FUN and we do it every year, BUT there is candy everywhere!!
EXHIBIT B:
Okay, KEV brought home the Hershey’s from work (ya, he did!) and I bought a big ‘ol stack of KitKats to give to my kid’s male teachers and scout leaders and things (female teachers got girly stuff).
It is tough for me to have THIS MUCH chocolate in my house! (I may or may not have snitched some of the aforementioned stack. ;-))
EXHIBIT C:
Yu…umm. K, my sister’s birthday was yesterday. She invited our family up for the evening. She and I went to a Boot Camp class at her gym together (way fun!) and then we went back to her place for pizza, cake and games!
My bro-in-law bought some little chocolate mint cakes from Mrs. Backer’s Pastry Shop (my family’s fav for generations), so of course I had to have some!
Dang.
EXHIBIT D:
I have to send in two dozen store bought cookies to my daughter’s classroom party tomorrow. Kev and I ran to Harmon’s grocery store to buy them and Harmon’s also happens to sell the best sugar cookies on the planet….so we of course had to get some.
What the heck people!???
It is only Wednesday too!
This is not good!
***********************
I know it’s the holiday season and it’s a tough, crazy time of year!
But, COME ON!
I’ve let myself have a few treats because it IS such a fun time of year, but when I give myself the green light, I have a tough time turning it OFF!
So, my goal for the next two weeks is to just maintain my weight. So far, so good.
However, I am cookin’ up a dang awesome eating/exercise plan for the New Year. I’m excited.
I love New Year’s resolutions. The hustle and bustle of the Christmas season is over and a fresh new year is waiting ahead. It’s very motivational to me.
SO, when I get my little “plan” worked up, I will of course share it with all of you.
And, then you all can do it WITH ME!
FUN!
I am also planning to start running again after the New Year too!
YaY!
I’m going to hit it hard and hope to lose these last and final 10 pounds!
Wa…hoo!
So, enjoy the rest of the year….but not too much!
K?

The mint chocolate cake looks yummy! Can’t wait to see your New Years plan.
Melanie says
Sadly, the mint chocolate cake IS yummy! 😉 I’m excited to put my New Year’s plan together and I will get it up on here ASAP. I’m excited to hit it hard!! yay!!
Jenzy says
O dear! I think you’ll make out just fine … just don’t skip the gym! lol You’re absolutely stunning anyway Melanie, all in moderation they say. 🙂 I’m going to avoid visiting this year and plan to invite my brother and his family over here, as I know they’ll have a truckload of goodies – me on the other hand, at most will offer up some lite jello with a bit of dream whip on top! hahaa
Melanie says
Thanks for your support Jenzy! It is TOUGH! I think you’re smart to have your brother over to your house. It’s so much easier to stay “on the wagon” on your own turf! lol. I love jello! I’m so impressed with your will power! Thanks for your example!

I think the goal of maintaining is the smartest thing to do. With people dropping things off and parties and goodies everywhere, I feel like I’m doing well to have a little bit and then give the rest to my kids!
Melanie says
I know, Amy it’s SO hard!!! I’m just trying to make it through the holidays without too much damage being done! I’m anxious for life to slow down a bit and for my discipline and motivation to kick back in!
