Ummmmm, ya.
If you read the title of this post and several of my most recent posts, you will see that my life has um, well, uhhh sucked a little bit lately.
“Sucked” is a word I ask my children not to use, but I use it fully and proudly right now.
LOL.
I can’t think of a more fitting word to sum up my life as of late. 😉
However, being the eternal optimist that I am, I know that “The night is always darkest just before the dawn!”
It’s gettin’ pretty dark in here….
I’m still very happy though because the future looks bright and I have a lot to be grateful for!!

In case you’re wondering………..I was a very very very sick lady. Blah.
I’m not surprised because I’ve been livin’ the crazy life for a while now and can only do it for so long……..before I get sick!
Happens every time!
I started to feel a little bit blah on Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning I considered not going to my 10:00 AM “Muscle Works” class, but I decided to go anyway (if it was a cardio class I would have stayed home!) I made it through my class, but I did feel a little weak and “out of it.”
That afternoon I started to feel very very blah. I ended up getting the stomach flu! Ewww! I HATE the stomach flu more than any other (nonfatal or non-chronic) illness out there! Yuckity, yuck, yuck, yuck. Blah.
I was so so so sick! I basically lived on my bed and didn’t move for two days. Thank heavens my big kids were home from school (spring break!) and Kev got off work early on Thursday. They were my angels. It’s tough to be a sick mom!
I really didn’t eat much for about 3 days. This is basically what I subsisted on (when I did finally start to eat!)….
That is it.
I still feel a little weak and my appetite is lacking, but at least I’m improving! Yay!
I must be an old lady though because I used to bounce back from these things a lot quicker! Geeesh.
Anyway, sorry for all the complaining. I know my blog is supposed to be about “health” and “happiness”, but I’m also a crazy mother who tries to accomplish WAY too much…..so this is the “keepin’ it real” version of health and happiness.
This is my life. 🙂
On a positive note….I did learn a lot while I was laying in bed feeling sorry for myself. Here are some of the things I learned…
- Health is a very wonderful gift I get to enjoy every day (that I’m not sick!)
- Exercise is a privilege.
- I owe it to my body to be as healthy as possible (eat well, exercise, adequate sleep, etc.)
- Having hopes, ambitions, goals, etc. is wonderful!
- A clean house is so so so awesome (houses don’t do well when the mom is sick!)
- Laying around watching TV is so overrated.
- Being able to snuggle and squeeze my kids is a blessing!
- Having a husband who sleeps in the same bed with me is awesome (Kev didn’t sleep in my bed for 2 days….he called me the Black Widow!) lol!
- Life is awesome…..we all need to live it to the fullest!!!
I’m so grateful to be healthy once again. I really believe that sickness is necessary for us to really appreciate all the blessings we have!!!
I hope you all are HEALTHY and happy too. I promise my next post (and the next several posts) will be a lot more upbeat!!!
xoxoxo!

Thank you so much! It seems like I always have to learn the “hard way!” LOL.
