Hey friends! I’m so happy it’s the weekend! I’m also happy we don’t have a lot going on this weekend so hopefully I can catch up on life! #storyofmylife
Well, we had a wonderful time down in St. George a couple weeks ago. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Utah, we live in the Salt Lake City valley which is a metropolis area surrounded by the beautiful Wasatch Mountains.
I love where I live.
One of the other things I love about where I live is if we drive about 4 hours south, the terrain is completely different! It becomes the amazing red rock country full of incredible rock formations, arches, gorgeous hikes and the sun! Southern Utah is typically 10-20 degrees hotter than northern Utah at all times, so it’s the perfect little getaway.
We were only down there for about 2 days, but we enjoyed relaxing, swimming, playing pickle ball (my first time!) and soaking up the sun. It wasn’t quite as hot as I hoped it would be, but when we left the SLC area, it was snowing!! So, I didn’t complain.
We explored the Gunlock State Park area and it was incredible!! We’d never been there before, but the word on the street was that now was the time to go! Apparently the waterfalls were flowing more than they had in eight years and, holy cow, they did not disappoint!
Sadly, I didn’t take too many pics, but here are a few I did take…
These pictures DO NOT do it justice! Oh, and we were in St. George with our dear friends, Kevin and Kelly (we met them when we lived in New Hampshire years ago) and they invited another family to join us. We had a lot of fun together!
Later that day, we hiked around Snow Canyon.
We visited the Pioneer Names trail. If you look closely, you can see some old Pioneer Names that were written on the side of the mountain with wagon axle grease.
We also hiked around Jenny’s Canyon, which is a beautiful little slot canyon that is one of our favorite places to explore! 🙂
It is such a breathtakingly beautiful place to explore and we had a wonderful weekend with our little family and dear friends. 🙂

Well guys, today I want to share some of my very favorite workout clothes! People ask me quite often about my favorite exercise clothes, so I thought I’d share some of them with y’all!
First off I want to say that I am a bargain shopper who loves to find high quality clothing at good deals! However, I have learned that there are some items of workout clothing that rarely go on sale (ahem, Lulu), but I think they are worth the investment sometimes!
I also gotta say that I’m not really a trendy person, in that I don’t buy things just because it’s the “cool brand.” I couldn’t care less. I just look for cute, high quality, comfortable clothes that are at a decent price.
With that being said, my favorite places to shop for workout clothing are TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Gap, Old Navy, Lululemon and Athleta.
I gotta say that I haven’t bought anything from Lulu for a little while, but FOLKS, everything I’ve ever bought there has been amazing!! There have been a few things I’ve gotten over the years that I haven’t liked as well as others, but the quality is second to none. No kidding, I have a couple pair of leggings from there that I bought like 5-6 years ago and they are still as good as new! I wear them all the time too!
Soooo, if you ever think Lulu is too expensive, think of it like an investment. They just last and last and last and they stay looking good and make you look good too! Oh, and they rarely have sales, but I have found some good things at decent prices in their “We Made to Much” section.
I recently bought a few things from Athleta that I am LOVING so much!!! Oh, and Athleta can be quite expensive, but they have some decent sales sometimes too, which is good. I’ve found the key is to shop as soon as the sale starts, otherwise all the sizes are picked over.
This whole outfit is one of my favs….
Oh, and side note, I feel a need to say DO NOT look at my sad little bedroom. Oh my. We painted it about a year ago, but I still need to paint our adjoining bathroom and closet, so that beautiful box of all of our painting crap has taken up residence in our room. I don’t know ’bout y’all, but we always have so many to-do’s on the list and somehow this to-do is just not gettin’ to-done. Ha ha.
Also, my beautiful cardboard window coverings? Um, ya. When we moved in our house 11 years ago, we bought shutters throughout the house and “the guy” who sold them to us said that most people leave those transom windows uncovered.
We quickly realized that it’s not ideal to leave them uncovered in a bedroom, so the cardboard has stayed. Also, just FYI, it would cost us like $500 to get shutters put up there and I’m not sure they would look pretty, SO again, cardboard has stayed. Sigh.
I hope y’all feel better about the decor in your homes now. Ha!
Anyway, moving on.
Those leggings in that picture are the bomb! I know they look basic, but they are the best. They are super soft, they hold me in without being restrictive, the waist is perfect and doesn’t budge and they have some pretty detailing you can’t see in that picture.
They have pretty little holes down the side of each leg that help to keep you cool. I also love the beautiful cut at the ankle. It’s so pretty and adds a feminine touch. It’s the little things. Oh, and they have pockets too. Love them! They are called the Chakra 7/8 Tight in Powervita.
They have a lot of other cute colors too, but I just needed another pair of basic black.
That top has been one of my all-time favorites too! It’s the perfect tightness (not too tight and not frumpy looking), I love the neckline, I love the pretty stripes and I love that the length is a little bit longer. I bought that light pink top about 8-9 months ago and I’ve loved it so much that I recently bought another one in a different color.
My light pink one is a size small and the darker pink one is a medium. I like both sizes for different reasons. I love that the medium is a little more forgiving though! I love, love, love, love this top!
I just checked out the Athleta website and they still have this top for sale, but I’m not loving the colors they are offering right now. They may add more colors down the road though!
I noticed they have a new top available that’s very similar though. I may need to get me one!
The leggings I’m wearing in the pic with the darker pink tank are from Fabletics. I really love them! They fit perfectly and I love the pretty sheer details. I don’t think these exact leggings are available on their site now, but they have a lot of similar ones! They are the Salar Leggings and they have a lot of varieties.
I have to say that I like Fabletics, but I don’t love them. They’ve been kind of hit and miss for me. I have a few items that I LOVE from them, but I’ve also gotten a few things that have just been kind of “meh” for me.
I also got these leggings from Athleta recently and I love them so much too!
They’re very basic. They don’t have any pretty little details and they don’t even have pockets, but somehow I just love them so much and keep reaching for them when I head to the gym. They are called the Sonar Tight and they only available online. They are actually on sale right now, but there are only a few sizes left. 🙁
I love the color of these leggings too! It’s called Abyss and it’s just the prettiest deep greenish color. These leggings are just so soft and fit perfectly too. They look high quality and are just so pretty.
I’m wearing them with a basic black tank from Old Navy that I love. I bought that tank a couple years ago, so it’s not available on their website anymore, but it’s been just a great basic tank that goes with anything.
One of the things I love about the workout clothes from Old Navy is they are such a great value! They are cute, comfy and such a great price. They have sales all the time and I’ve gotten so many things under $10! Hello!?
I will say that their things aren’t as high quality as more expensive brands, of course, but you can’t beat the price!
I bought these leggings from Old Navy a few years ago and they have been some of my favs….
I’ve gotten several compliments on them and in fact, once a girl at the gym asked me where I got them. I noticed a couple weeks later she had the same leggings on! Ha ha.
They don’t have these exact leggings on their site anymore, but they have so many other cute ones! These were their compression crops and I love the fit.
As far as my favorite sports bras??? I’ve heard that Lulu has some awesome ones, but for some reason I can’t justify spending that much money on something that really doesn’t even get seen! I always wear a tank over my sports bras.
My fav place to find awesome sports bras are at TJ Maxx or Marshalls. You can find high quality, cute, supportive ones for a good deal! In fact one of my favorite sports bras I’ve found at TJ Maxx was this Under Armour one…
The one I found was royal blue, but it is the perfect bra for running. It’s super supportive and cute! It’s a little hard to take on and off though, just sayin’.
This bra is still available on the Under Armour site, but it’s about $50. I wanna say I got mine at TJ Maxx for about $15-$20.
I also LOVE this sports bra from Gap Fit.
It’s really supportive, I love the cute straps and it’s really flattering (not that anyone really sees it, but still!) It’s one of my favorites. I have it in white, but I might need to get another.
Gap has sales ALL the time too, so I got this for about $20.
I also love this sports bra from Handful….
This is an awesome bra! I bought mine about five years ago and it’s still one of my favs. It’s comfortable, supportive and just a good, basic, solid bra. They are usually a little spendy ($56), but they have sales quite often. It’s definitely a good investment though because it still looks brand new and I wear it all the time!
I’ll also share that I bought a New Balance sports bra years ago that has been my all-time favorite running bra. FYI, I can wear medium or even lighter support bras for most of my workouts, but for running, I need more support.
The bra on the left is very similar to the one I bought years ago and it’s been awesome!
I found my sports bra at TJ Maxx (yay!), but this one is available on the New Balance website for ~$60 (yikes!)
I also saw that bra on the right on the New Balance site and it looks awesome! It’s actually a high impact sports bra which surprised me because most high impact sports bras I’ve seen look more grandmother-ly. Ha ha. I may need to try that one out. It’s $42 btw, but I’m wondering if they’ll have a sale.
Well, that’s the latest on my favorite workout clothes for now! Just for fun, I found some cute things that are currently on Lulu, Athleta, Old Navy and Gap that I thought I’d share. These are the things I would buy if I had endless money, lol.
Things from Lululemon(click to enlarge)….
Things from Athleta (click to enlarge)….
Things from Gap Fit (click to enlarge)….
Things from Old Navy Active (click to enlarge)….
Ahhhh, everything is so cute! I need to start saving my pennies.
I also gotta say that cute workout clothes can be a huge motivator to get that workout in! It’s always fun to wear comfortable, flattering, beautiful clothing!
Well, that is all folks. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! xoxo
