Hey! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and have some fun plans for New Year’s Eve tonight. We had a great Christmas. We spent it with Kev’s family up in Oregon. I love spending Christmas with his fam because they have a lot of fun traditions. On Christmas Eve, a lot of the family came over to Kev’s parent’s house. We sang Christmas carols around the piano, read Luke 2, Kev’s dad read a Christmas story (How Mrs. Claus Saved Christmas from Family Circle magazine 1961) that he’s read almost every year for the past 50+ years, we watched a short Continue Reading…
Kev is Doing Better + Some Fun Christmas Things
Oh my WORD, I’ve been meaning to hop on here a gazillion times the past week or so, but I haven’t! My life has been so so so challenging this past month, as I’m sure y’all can imagine. AND when ya throw Christmas stuff on top of it….it equals pure insanity. I realized the other day that it was just over a month ago when we took Kev to the hospital for the first time. More Scary Stuff, but I’m Counting My Blessings
Well folks, I’ve been wanting to hop on here and update the blog, but I’m sorry to say that my stressful life got a little bit more stressful over the weekend. 🙁 I’ve been telling you guys all about poor Kev’s health problems that he’s been having. Yes, it’s been so scary and so hard. Last week he was actually starting to do quite well. His Crohn’s symptoms had almost completely disappeared. He still looked quite pale to me and he said he felt very tired and worn out. He also said he felt out of shape because every time he’d Continue Reading…
Thanksgiving, an Update on Kev + Some Random Healthy Things
I hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving. We actaully had a great one despite all of the stress we’ve been going through lately. I was so happy to have ALL of my siblings in town for Thanksgiving! I have a sister who lives in Connecticut, a brother in Georgia and another brother in California. It was so fun to have them all here. It had been about 18 years since we’d all been together for Thanksgiving! My mom has had Thanksgiving dinner at her house with all of her siblings and most of their kids for as long as Continue Reading…
Crohn’s Disease is Scary
Well my life has pretty much been turned on its head this past week. My poor, sweet husband was admitted to the hospital yesterday because of a severe Crohn’s Disease flare. The pic on the left was taken tonight, the pic on the right was yesterday…. My sweet baby kept asking Kev, “You okay da da?” “You okay?” It was precious and heartbreaking at the same time. My tender 8 year old has been in tears every time we go visit Kev. He doesn’t like to see him in the hospital and he says he hates to “leave dad all Continue Reading…
Deep Thoughts about Healthy Living + Some Random Things I’ve Been Loving!
Hey, hey, hey! I hope y’all are doing well and surviving this crazy post-election apocalypse our country is experiencing right now. Holy COW. Things have been nuts. I will withhold my opinions (and I have many, ha ha!), but will just say that I’m nervous, curious and optimistic about our country and our new President-elect all at the same time. It will be interesting to see how things play out. I’ll definitely be praying a lot. 😉 Moving on… Welp, I’m really loving where I am health-wise right now! If you read my blog, you know that I went on Continue Reading…
