The Negative Effects of Sugar + a Little Bit of Progress

May 30, 201524 Comments

Well guys, I’ve been killin’ it in the “exercise department” lately, but I’ve been struggling in the “eating department!”  Gah!  As far as overall health, wellness and weight loss goes, diet is KEY.  It’s at least 80% of the equation.  I’ve learned this time and time and time again. Interesting tidbit….I ran my Half Marathon two weeks ago.  I actually felt quite chubby and bloated that weekend.  I cleaned up the diet the next week and by the next weekend I felt lean-ish and my weight was at it’s lowest since I had the baby (7-8 pounds left to lose!)  Continue Reading…

My Ogden Half Marathon Recap

May 22, 201520 Comments

I’ve sat down to write this post several times this week and haven’t been able to finish it!  Sorry it’s taken me so long to get ‘er done.  Soooo, here goes! Well, I survived my half marathon last Saturday!  Woo hoo. Actually, not only did I survive…I thrived!  I loved it!  It was pretty much pouring rain throughout the entire race, but I still loved it….SO MUCH! We drove up to Ogden on Friday and decided to stay overnight in a hotel with the family.  It seemed like the best thing to do since I still have a nursing baby.  Continue Reading…

Getting Ready to Run a Half Marathon + a Great Mother’s Day!

May 15, 201512 Comments

Hey guys!  I can’t believe my half marathon is TOMORROW! Eeek! I’m actually really excited.  It sounds like so much FUN to run down a beautiful mountain canyon early in the morning, listening to motivational music surrounded by other inspiring runners!  The weather might be interesting though…the temperature should be perfect (in the 50s), but it might be rainy too.  Dang it! Kev and I actually got our last LONG run in last Saturday IN THE RAIN!  We kept waiting all day for the rain to stop, but it never did.  Soooo, we just decided to run anyway… It actually Continue Reading…

A Tough Run, Great Songs and a Sweet Boy

May 5, 201526 Comments

Hey guys! Well my life has been all about RUNNING lately.  I have ELEVEN days until my Half Marathon.  Woo hoo!  I’m actually quite excited! I must say that right now I love running more than I ever have!  It actually kind of surprises me. 😉  The last few weekends, Kev and I have driven to new places to run and I’ve really enjoyed it!  I have a few favorite running routes close to home that I usually run because of simplicity and time, but it’s been SO NICE to run in new places!  It seems like such a simple Continue Reading…

I Love Running + I Don’t Like Watching My Babies Grow Up!

April 30, 201518 Comments

I’ve been a crazy lady (as usual) and I’m so frustrated that I haven’t been able to blog more!  So sorry.  I’ve just accepted the fact that right now, this is as good as it’s going to get (in reference to blogging), dang it. Life is wonderful and I’m sincerely grateful every single day for the people and blessings in my life, but MAN, I’m looking forward to catching my breath one day.  I’ve decided it’s TOUGH to raise teenagers AND babies at the same time (not to mention all the kiddos that fall somewhere in between!) When I just Continue Reading…
