I have been a VERY busy, busy girl! We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with Kev’s family up in Oregon. I actually enjoy the 6 hour drive up there. It’s nice to “unplug” from the world for a bit and just get away with some of my favorite people for a while. I also loaded us up with a bunch of healthy snacks for the drive… I packed some Skinny Pop popcorn, grapes, string cheese, strawberries, carrot sticks, yogurt, Babybel cheese, fruit leather and nuts. Everything tasted great! I also decided to make a couple homemade treats for the Continue Reading…
Pluggin’ Along with the Healthy Lifestyle…
I’ve really been loving the “healthy lifestyle” plan I’ve been doing this month. I’ve done really well for the most part, but I’ve definitely had a few bad days. However, I haven’t had any fried foods and I’ve done pretty well on my sugar consumption. That’s a huge plus for me! BUT, I did have a very crappy day yesterday. Dang. My daughter keeps asking if she can make a treat, but I keep talking her out of it. But yesterday she really wanted to make something. Sooooo, she made yellow cupcakes with chocolate chips in them with chocolate frosting Continue Reading…
A Fun Weekend and a Good Exercise Week
Long time, no blog eh? Well, I hope y’all had a fabulous weekend. On Friday night, Kev and I went to see the movie Transcendence. It was really, really, really…..really dumb. I mean REALLY. Actually, I should mention that I slept for a big chunk of it, so it’s possible it was good while I slept. 🙂 I thought the plot was sorta kinda interesting, but it was sooooo slow moving and just booooooring. In fact, it’s the first movie I’ve ever seen where I thought, “Ya know, should we just go home?” Then I just decided to make better Continue Reading…
Distractions and Random Healthy Stuff
Happy Tuesday everyone! This morning I realized I have a MILLION projects and “to-dos” that are just not getting “to-done.” Dang it. I really need to go through all my kids clothes and get rid of the things that are too small/wintery, pull out the hand-me-down clothes from the basement, de-junk my laundry room (it’s the catch-all), archive all of our pictures/videos, take some time to put my kids “special” school papers and memorabilia in their books, clean out under my bed, organize and de-junk all the toys….the list goes on and on! I also know I’ll be having a Continue Reading…
A Wonderful Mother’s Day Weekend + a Hike to Timpanogos Cave
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day yesterday! I had a fabulous Mother’s Day weekend. On Friday, Kev came home from work with these… They were absolutely gorgeous and this picture doesn’t do them justice at all. I told Kev they looked more like a small tree instead of flowers because they were so huge. I loved them so much and it definitely made me feel loved. Later on, Kev and I went to see the movie, Heaven is For Real. It was a darling show and made me cry more than one time. It Continue Reading…
