May 7, 201414 Comments

Thule, the Swedish company best known for their amazing sport carriers and roof racks, also has an amazing “Active With Kids” line of products which includes bicycle carriers, multifunctional child carriers and child bike seats. I was recently sent the Chariot CX-1, an incredible stroller/jogger/multifunctional child carrier, that I can’t wait to tell you guys about! It comes standard with the Strolling Kit… But you can also purchase “Conversion Kits” which allow you to bike, jog, hike or even cross country ski with it. Yes, it’s pretty darn amazing folks. 😉 I knew I would primarily use the Chariot CX-1 Continue Reading…

Fighting Insecurities and Pluggin’ Along

May 3, 201421 Comments

I went to my favorite killer class at the gym this morning and I’m SO GLAD I did! We did 120 pushups (I did them all on my knees), a bunch of planks (I can’t do those, but I modified them pretty well), a bunch of killer squats, lunges and killed the entire upper body.  Yes, it thoroughly kicked my can, but I loved it. It was the perfect way to start out my Saturday morning. 😉 I haven’t been able to go to that class for the past 6 weeks or so for various (legitimate and valid) reasons.  Sooooo, Continue Reading…

Good Food, Great Finds and a Bunch of Random Things!

May 1, 201412 Comments

Well I’m still goin’ strong on my healthy diet and I’m lovin’ it!  It’s definitely a reasonable lifestyle for me. 😉 I’ve been loading up on lots of real food like fruit, veggies, eggs, protein shakes, lean meats and whole grains (oats, quinoa and low carb tortillas mostly.)  HOWEVER, I’ve definitely been dipping into the chocolate chip bag a little too much. But, I’ve decided I’m okay with that. I know I need to be careful because the calories in chocolate chips add up quick, but I also know they’re helping to keep me on the wagon and not feel Continue Reading…

Cheesy Vegetable Soup + Whole Foods Giveaway!

April 29, 201460 Comments

I love healthy food and finding and creating healthy recipes.  I also love companies that help make eating well a little easier! That’s one of the many reasons why I love Whole Foods!  Their store is full of so many wonderful products and I don’t have to worry about the things I purchase there.  I know Whole Foods has high standards and is committed to “real,” natural, healthy, WHOLE food! So, when I was asked to participate in their “Cook More, Save More” Blogger challenge, I was thrilled!  I was asked to create a recipe where each serving is under Continue Reading…

Pluggin’ Along and Trying to Stay Motivated

April 26, 201419 Comments

Today has been a very, very rainy day!  I actually love the rain because it makes me feel calm, relaxed and cozy. However, it also makes me feel very unmotivated. 😉 I really didn’t feel like going to the gym today…at all.  I just wanted to stay in my jammies and veg on the couch.  BUT, I decided to pull it together and get my bum over to the gym. Once I got there, I still didn’t feel like going. But, after wasting time playing on my phone and putting it off for a bit, I finally went in and Continue Reading…

Deep Thoughts and My New Healthy Diet

April 23, 201414 Comments

Well it’s only been 3 1/2 days, but I’m really loving my healthy diet so far!  I think it could be the perfect lifestyle for me.  Yes, it’s tough and requires mental commitment, but it’s not SOOO tough that I can’t sustain it. Just to recap….my new diet lifestyle right now is basically this: Don’t eat any sugary treats (brownies, candy, cookies, cake, etc.) Don’t eat any fried foods. Stay away from diet beverages. Eat lots of fruits, veggies, lean meats, certain dairy products (Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, a little bit of regular cheese), whole grains (oats, quinoa, brown rice, Continue Reading…
