Date Night, a Weird Lunch and Easy Sloppy Joes

November 15, 201313 Comments

Happy Friday one and all! I really love Fridays and weekends so much! Kev and I go on a date most Friday nights and I look forward to it all week long. It really is necessary for my sanity. When our kids were younger, we only went on dates maybe once a month, probably even less.  I can’t tell you how nice it is to have built in babysitters who actually want to babysit! Love it. We’ll probably go see a movie tonight.  I’d really like to see Thor because I LOVE him….oh, I mean I think it looks like Continue Reading…

Post Workout Food, Perfectly Simple Protein Bars and my Delinquent Child

November 14, 20138 Comments

We’ve had the most perfect fall weather this past week and I’ve loved it SO MUCH!  It’s been sunny, in the 60s and absolutely beautiful. Love it. But, we’re expecting snow this weekend.  Dang. Anyway, since I’ve been feeling the “fall spirit”, I decided to make some Pumpkin Protein Pancakes for breakfast this morning. This picture’s not pretty, but you get the idea… There’s something about pumpkin that makes fall, well uh….a little more “fall-y.”  I love it.  These tasted so good to me and are so filling!  Love them. I also made a triple batch (wanted to use up Continue Reading…

What I Learned from My 100 Days Without Sugar Challenge

November 13, 201328 Comments

Well as y’all know, my “100 Days Without Sugar Challenge” ended last Friday.  It was a tough challenge, but I really loved it and am so glad I did it! First off, just to recap….I started the challenge on August 1st and it ended November 8th.  The only “official rule” of the challenge was to not have ANY sugary treats like chocolate, cake, soda, cookies, muffins, candy, etc. Yes, I still had foods that contained sugar.  I just didn’t have these kinds of foods (with the exception of the chips)… Source Yes, it was tough to avoid these foods for Continue Reading…

A Sugary Weekend, a Weird Concert and Wonderful Friends

November 12, 201313 Comments

Hello my friends. 😉 As you all know, my “100 Days Without Sugar Challenge” ended last Friday.  I loved the challenge so much and learned SOOOO much from it. Since my challenge ended on Friday, I spent the rest of the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) relaxing a bit and enjoying all the sugary things I’d avoided for 3+ months.  I was so excited to enjoy a fun “treat filled” weekend and eat some of my favorite treats once again. Sadly, it wasn’t as fun as I thought it would be! My Saturday started off with a big bowl of Cocoa Continue Reading…

A Sugary Weekend + Homemade Oreos!

November 9, 201319 Comments

Well guys, my “100 Days Without Sugar Challenge” is officially over.  Holy cow. I think I did pretty well, for the most part. If you’ve been reading my blog, you know I definitely still ate sugar; just not the yummy, decadent, addicting, mouth-watering forms of sugar. I really love and miss that kind of sugar.  But, because I love it so much (and am addicted to it), I’ve found it’s much easier to just stay away from it as much as I can. I’m not one of those people who can take a small bite of something or just have Continue Reading…

A Great Upper Body Workout that will Tighten and Tone your Arms!

November 6, 201341 Comments

Hey guys! I have a fun workout to share with you guys today.  I’m calling it the “Tight Arms Workout” because it will help you get tight, toned, lean arms!  Yay! It will also help to eliminate the “not so cute” under arm jiggle. 😉 In order to get the best results from this workout you should also be eating a healthy diet.  As most of you know, you cannot spot reduce.  You can tone and tighten your muscles all you want, but in order to lean out and actually see those muscles, you need to follow a healthy diet Continue Reading…
