Well guys, apparently my efforts to be a better blogger aren’t working, eh?
In all reality, I just feel so darn tired and crappy all the time! And just so ya know, I’m not saying that for attention or sympathy…it’s just pretty much how I feel 24/7.
I’m sorry to be a big giant rain cloud, but I’m here to say that being pregnant is freaking hard! I’ve done it a million times before and somehow I’ve survived though.
Yes, I know it’s worth it.
Yes, I know I’ll feel better eventually.
Yes, I know there are pregnant ladies out there who are a lot sicker than me.
Yes, I’m so dang excited to have another baby in our house again! Eeee!
Yes, I’m probably being a wuss.
Oh, and if you happen to be one of those ladies who are crazy sick all day long for the entire 9 months throwing up constantly….man, you have my respect and sympathy.
I cannot even imagine!
And, if you happen to be one of those ladies who say, “I LOVED being pregnant so much and never felt sick at all!” Well, I sorta kind of hate you. Just kidding. I just hope you know how very lucky you are!
On a brighter note, I’m hoping to feel better in the next 2-3 weeks! Wahoo! I am seriously counting down the days. I’m hoping to stick to a more regular workout schedule and a healthier diet when I don’t feel like I want to hurl all day long.
Oh, and I haven’t really been taking pictures of my food because it’s not too exciting. Here’s pretty much what I’ve been eating….
Breakfast: eggs or peanut butter on toast
Lunch: leftovers or random things
Snacks: cold cereal, bananas, apples, carrots, crackers dipped in cottage cheese
Dinner: whatever in the heck sounds good to me.
And a few cookies here and there. Hee hee.
We’ve definitely been eating out more than usual and I’ve definitely been eating a lot more carbs than usual. My doctor told me that eating a high carb diet actually helps relieve morning sickness. I’ve found that to be true, unfortunately.
Oh, and FYI I don’t feel like I look a whole lot different yet. I don’t have a belly yet, but I can tell my waist is a little wider. I also feel softer (not in a good way!) in my arms and legs. Dang. I’ve also gained about 5 pounds so far.

Last weekend, we took the kids out on a fun “Family Day.” We had so much fun! We went to Chuck-a-Rama for dinner, which is a wonderful buffet style restaurant. I’m happy to say that although it was a buffet, I didn’t entirely pig out! Yay!
I didn’t take any pictures because I was too busy helping and corralling all the kids! But, I started out with a yummy salad, then had one plate full of a tiny bit of a bunch of things and one small dessert (a Rice Krispie treat with a little ice cream on the side.)
Everything tasted great and I didn’t leave there feeling terribly full.
Afterward, we took the kids to All Star Bowling and Entertainment center. We had so much fun. All the kids loved bowling and the bigger kids fought over who got to help the little ones.
It was sweet…
After bowling, we let the kids play a few games and ride some kiddie rides. My two littlest ones wanted to ride the little Merry-go-round, but then all the big kids decided to jump on too!
Yes, we are a “moochy” family and took full advantage of our 25 cents.
My cute “super-hero lovin” 5 year old absolutely loved playing the Batman car racing game.
My daughter helped my three year old play too. It was so much fun to watch them because they got SO INTO the game!
We played and played all night long and no one wanted to go home. We finally got home after 11:00! It was a crazy, but wonderful night.

I also want to tell you guys about a fun campaign I’ve been working on with Nintendo. A couple months ago, I was contacted by the the firm, Brand About Town and asked if I wanted to participate in a fun 30-day Wii Fit U Challenge with Nintendo.
I of course said yes, and I’m glad I did. Our 30-day challenge ended last week and I had so much fun! Nintendo sent me a fun package including a Wii U, Wii Fit Balance Board, controllers and 2 Wii Fit U Fit Meters (not pictured.)
Needless to say, the kiddos were very excited about this package! I had never tried Wii Fit before, but I couldn’t wait to check it out.
There are over 70 different activities to try, including dance workouts, yoga and fun things like boxing, obstacle courses, hula hooping and rowing.
It’s seriously so much fun and doesn’t even feel like a workout. My kids have really enjoyed playing with it too. I also love the Wii Fit U Fit Meter they sent me.
I pretty much wore it every day and it kept track of my steps and calorie burn. I also synced it with the Wii U so I could keep track of my progress.
I had two specific challenges I worked toward; the “Hawaii” distance challenge and the “Grand Canyon” altitude challenge (the pics below are not of my final numbers, fyi.)
Every time I would sync my Wii U Fit Meter, my little “Mii” would progress along the trail. It was really fun to see the progress. Unfortunately, since I’ve been so sick I didn’t progress nearly as far as I would have liked. Boo hoo. 🙁
I did take some fun (and cheesy) pictures of me enjoying the Wii Fit U the other day I thought I would share…
It really is a lot of fun! I used the Wii U GamePad during several of the activities and it was awesome. I loved that I could still use the Wii even if my family wanted to watch the TV. I was able to complete everything by just using the Wii U GamePad. Awesome.
Overall, I have loved my Wii U, Wii Fit U Meter and Wii Fit U so much! Wii Fit U is such a blast, fun to play with the kids and makes it so easy to burn a few extra calories too.
Oh, and I’m wearing my new Old Navy outfit in the pictures above. I have to say I LOVE IT SO MUCH! The top is fitted and supportive where it needs to be and very forgiving where it needs to be too!
I also love the capris too! They are so comfortable and cute. I’m sure both of these things will be favorites! AND, the whole outfit cost me about $15-$16 total. So dang cool.
Well, I gotta go feed my children so I better roll! I hope you are all happy and healthy!

I’m sorry that you are still feeling so crummy!!! I wish there was something to help you feel better!!!
Your fun family night sounds pretty great!!!
Keep trying to rest and cut yourself as much slack as possible!!!

Thanks! I know, it’s been so tough. I’m sure hoping to feel better the next couple weeks!

HOLD ON A MINUTE?!?!?! You’ve been pregnant a MILLION TIMES before?! OMG OMG !!! You should be in the Guinness BOOK! LOL!
Melanie says
Lol, it sure feels like a million!! 😉

I am so sorry you are not feeling well. Congrats on restraining yourself at the buffet. I always feel like I need to get my money out of it which I am sure makes me eat to much. Luckily I rarely if ever go to buffets because of this reason.
Melanie says
Thanks! I know, buffets are so hard for me too! Thankfully, I haven’t had too big of an appetite. I think that helped me a lot!

I have the Wii Fit and I love it!
I am so sorry you feel so sick. Honestly, I am 100% sure that when my hubs and I start having kids I’m going to feel sick all.the.time. I just know it. I don’t know how I’m going to be able to work. It’s actually really freaking me out which is why we don’t have any kids yet! Did you feel like this with every pregnancy?
On another note, I look forward to when you are able to blog! 🙂
Melanie says
Thanks so much! Pregnancy can really be so hard, but I know a lot of ladies who are hardly sick at all! I hope you’ll be one of the lucky ones. All of my pregnancies have pretty much been the same….I feel pretty crappy for about 2 months and then it’s not too bad. I worked full time with my first pregnancy up until 3 weeks before I delivered. It wasn’t too bad. I’ve just learned to take it one day at a time…..

You look absolutely amazing, so I wouldn’t worry too much! But I remember how sick I was too for the first trimester…it was VERY hard and I was stuck in bed the whole time because of bleeding issues. Thank God though, by the 2nd trimester, I felt great! I’m so sorry you are feeling so bad and really hope it goes away soon and you can feel better! That Nintendo stuff looks like a lot of fun too 🙂
Melanie says
You are so sweet. It’s been so so hard to be so sick, but I do think I’m starting to feel a little bit better (I hope I didn’t just jinx myself!) That’s terrible that you were stuck in bed along with being sick. YUCK! I’m glad to hear you were better by the second trimester though. I usually feel better by then too. I’m counting down the days!!!

Sorry you’re not feeling better yet. I love Wii. That game looks like fun. I think Old Navy is my favorite place to buy workout gear. You’re still looking super fit, lady!
Melanie says
Thanks so much! I really love Old Navy too…cute stuff, decent quality, good prices. LOVE it!
Alex @ Kenzie Life says
I really need to update my workout wardrobe. I just bought some Karma leggings and they’re amazing and I love them, but the bulk of my athletic gear is Lululemon. I find that their shirts last but the pants and capris just get rough and pilly and that texture drives me crazy! I have one pair of capris from Old Navy and really like them so I should get more 🙂 I hope you start feeling better soon. I’m really excited to have kids one day but also kind of terrified of what it will do to my body. Oddly, I’m ok with the weight gain (theoretically), but I already have a sensitive stomach to begin with so I’m worried about the nausea. And my mom had alopecia with my sister and lost her hair during pregnancy. Luckily it grew back after she had my sister but I really hope that’s not a genetic thing! Have a great weekend and here’s hoping you feel better ASAP!
Melanie says
I have a few Lululemon tops, but haven’t bought any of the bottoms. That’s interesting to hear they don’t wear too well. I hope one day when you have kids that pregnancy won’t be too hard on you! I especially hope you don’t get the alopecia like your mom. That’s scary. Pregnancy can do interesting and scary things. Yikes!

I hate wearing pedometers that clip to my pants because inevitability when I’m doing the dishes or something the button to reset the count will get hit and then i lose track of my steps.
Did you find this to be a problem with the wii tracker?
Thanks,
Elaine
Melanie says
I didn’t find this to be a problem at all with the Wii Fit Meter. I bumped the button all the time, but it wouldn’t reset. I don’t even know if I could reset it accidentally. It was great.
Elaine says
Thanks Melanie for replying to my question. I feel more confident about purchasing this product.
