Pregnancy is FREAKING Hard + Fun Celebrations at our House

August 14, 201422 Comments

So, baby STILL isn’t here, but I did go to the doctor today.  Woo hoo.

I’m dilated to a 3 (I was a 2 last week) and my doctor said if baby doesn’t come by Sunday, she will INDUCE me!  YAY, yay, yay, yay, YAY!

There is a light at the end of the tunnel, folks.

So, I’m scheduled to be induced Sunday morning.  I’m Group B Strep positive though, so they will give me antibiotics for 4 hours before they “officially” start me.  Dang it.

***********************

Sooooo, can I just complain for a little bit!?

Okay, here goes…..MAN, these last few days/weeks of pregnancy have been horrific!  I’m starting to think my pregnantness is a permanent condition.  I seriously can’t imagine having a body that works, moves and breathes normally.

I can hardly move, everything hurts and I get random cramps/Charlie Horses in various muscles all day long.  Lately I’ve been getting MEGA Charlie Horses in my BUM!  Ya.  I’ve never experienced that before and let’s just say…..it’s not pretty.

I’ve also been SO DANG tired and nauseous lately.  I’ve never been NAUSEOUS at the end of pregnancy either!???  Weird.  I am SO DANG SICK of feeling nauseous!  Blah, blah, blah.

Blah.

Yes, I want my body back.  Oh, and I can totally tell I’m SO DONE with being pregnant because today at my doctor appointment, I didn’t even care about jumping on the scale!  I usually dread it and cringe when I step on, but today I was like, “BRING IT ON!”  “I really don’t even care if I gained 10 pounds in one week, let’s just get this thing over with already!”

Thankfully, I hadn’t gained any more weight. 🙂  AND, that is the LAST time I will ever have to step on a scale as a pregnant lady EVER AGAIN!  Hallelujah!

Well, that’s the end of my vent session.  Sorry for the negativity, but I DO feel better.

AND, just so y’all know, I’m SO DANG excited to meet our sweet baby!  I love my babies so much and even though it pains me to say it at the moment, they are SO WORTH all of the pain, heartburn, nausea, weight gain, long-suffering, handicapped-ness and permanent body damage I go through to bring them into this world.

I’ve also reminded ALL of my kids that they owe me….BIG TIME!  Lol.

*******************

I’m happy that baby didn’t arrive on Kev’s birthday or our anniversary though.  I’m happy he’ll get his very own special day!

On Tuesday (Kev’s birthday), we had cake with the kids…

And then Kev and I went on a DATE!  We went to see the movie Into the Storm and it was pretty good.

Into the Storm poster

It was definitely low-budget and the acting was so-so, but it was an interesting story.  I really enjoyed it!

Oh, and we recently found out that our local theater offers $5 Tuesdays!  All movies are $5 all day long.  AND, you can get a small popcorn for a buck.  Score.

Since we’re avid movie goers, I think we’ll be going on Tuesdays more often!

Afterward, we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse (Kev’s fav!)  I ordered the 6 oz Sirloin with a sweet potato and side salad.

I splurged a little and got grilled onions on the steak and ordered my sweet potato LOADED (marshmallows and some kind of sauce.)  It was just what this pregnant lady needed. 😉

My Texas Roadhouse food

Oh, and I only used a tiny bit of Ranch on my salad and I only had one crouton.  I didn’t have any of the yummy rolls they brought out either.

Everything tasted great.

Wednesday was our 18th anniversary!  Holy CRAP, how has it been EIGHTEEN YEARS!!???  Time flies and it’s just so crazy!

Here’s a fun a pic I found of us while we were dating….

Kev and I dating

We look like babies.  Insane.  Sadly, last night I was so sick, nauseous, pregnant and immobile that we didn’t do a whole lot for our anniversary.  We decided to grab some dinner at Astro Burger (ya, super romantic, lol!)

We got the Greek Souvlaki plate to share and it was wonderful!  It’s one of our favs…

I love that the salad and chicken kabobs are healthy and the fries are SO DANG good!  I’m glad we share the fries too because neither of us eat too many.  It was just perfect.

Ya, so it was a kind of lame anniversary, but that’s okay!  We had a nice night together anyway.

Well, I gotta go pick up my daughter from a birthday party, so I need to head out.  I hope you all are happy and healthy!  xoxo

I was going to say the same thing Holly did above….you can’t even tell you’re pregnant in that dinner pic! And oh my gosh, I gasped with a grin at your young couple photo…..soooooo cute! Y’all are such a beautiful couple and congrats on 18 years. That’s amazing!! You are so blessed. I cracked up at your venting session because it reminded me so much of how I felt in the last month of pregnancy!! That sucks about Charlie horses in the butt, ouch! Well at least it will all be over soon!!

I’m sorry, but I laughed so hard at the rant. I guess I’m just far enough away from it that I can look back and laugh. The very end just stinks. Nothing’s easy, everything hurts, nothing fits. Blech!

The end is here though, two more days and you’ll have your baby!

Haha!!! I hope after I’m far enough from it, I can look back and laugh too! I know I’d forgotten how hard the end of pregnancy is. MAN! I’m so happy I’m near the finish line though. 😉

You are doing awesome! You are right- all that discomfort and pain is so worth it. I was a week late with my fifth baby when I had never had a “late” baby before. Every day felt soooo long. Some just need a little more time. Wishing you the best with labor and delivery!

Thanks so much! I know, I thought since it’s my sixth baby he wouldn’t take so long! It is definitely starting to feel like “dog years” here at the end!
