Well, since I took a little blogging hiatus….I have a lot to share! We had a crazy busy weekend (what’s new???), so I thought I would just share some highlights! So, here ya go….
It has been birthday central at our house! Tons of fun….and tons of cake! Yikes….and yum!
My littlest baby turns 2 on April 3rd. It is CrAzY birthday time at our house! It is so tough to eat well with this much CAKE goin’ around. Auugghh.

On Saturday, Kev and I were talking to our kids about running. Kev is training for a marathon (happening in May), so he told the kids he had to find some time to fit in a 12 mile run. My spunky and extremely confident 8 year old son was not impressed and didn’t seem to think 12 miles was very long.
We asked him how many miles he thought HE could run. BTW, he does like to run and has been involved in Track and Field the past 2 years. Anyway, he proudly declared he would easily be able to run 5 miles! We asked if he would like to “put his money where his mouth is” by hopping on the treadmill. He gladly accepted the challenge.
Quick little side note….this child of mine is amazingly sure of himself. He is an extraordinary leader and really has no fear…AT ALL. I love this about him and try to find ways to encourage him….but MAN he is a tough kid to raise. He really knows how to drain me and wear me out in 0.5 seconds flat. I have to constantly remind myself that this strong little personality will probably serve him well as an adult…..if he survives childhood, that is. Hee hee hee.
Anyway, here he is…
He ended up going a mile and half. I was quite proud of him, but he was a little discouraged. I asked if he would want to train to do a 5K with me. He didn’t seem too excited about that. I’m going to keep workin’ on him though. 😉 We’ll see…..

Kev and I went on a run together after my 4 year old’s little birthday party ended. It was extremely windy outside and looked like a storm was brewin’, but I wanted to get a run in and support Kev on his mega run.
So, I ran 2 miles with Kev and then he and I split ways. I continued on for another 3 miles and felt surprisingly good. The wind was brutal and I HATE running in the wind! Seriously, when I turned the corner and started running head-on into the wind, I had to run with my head down and was afraid my visor would blow away. I felt like yelling, “I’M GOIN’ IN!” It was crazy and I actually felt the wind pick me up and move me a couple times. I really enjoyed my run though and felt like I could have gone a few more miles. Weird.
Kev decided to run most of his 12 miler away from the wind (smart.) He called me on his cell phone and I went and picked him up when he was done.
Well, there are some highlights from our weekend. Yay. I’ve been eating well and trying to get my “groove” back on. I love it!
Leave a comment....I would love to hear from you!
