Oh my word guys, I don’t even know where to begin!
I’m so sorry my dang blog was “down” for about a week and a half. It was such a nightmare.
I gotta tell ya, moving a blog and switching web hosts is an extremely stressful ROYAL pain in the bee-hind.
I had about 12 nervous breakdowns and 8 panic attacks. I’ll spare you all the details, but let’s just say that I’m never planning on moving my blog anywhere ever again.
Btw, I switched to Bluehost and I love them SO MUCH! After 20 million technical support calls, I feel like I’m best friends with all the guys over there. They are all SO nice, SO knowledgeable and SO happy to help pathetic “non computer knowledgey” people like myself. 😉
Several times throughout the process, I thought I deleted my blog, lost all my stuff and messed everything up. Holy cow. THEN, it took forever for the Domain Name Server to transfer. THEN, I couldn’t find a bunch of my images and had to upload them again.
THEN (would you believe it!???!!) when I finally had everything transferred and everything was supposed to be working, my internet provider wouldn’t work right. After talking to Bluehost and my internet provider a million times, we found out there was a “broken connection” somewhere down the line that wouldn’t let me access my blog. OTHER people could access my blog, but I couldn’t.
Super weird, I know.
AND, my internet provider people said they COULDN’T fix it! What the??? So, yesterday I had a dude come out and hook me up with a different internet provider and NOW I’m finally working!
Do y’all feel my pain?? I think I’ve aged about 10 years the past week.
I need to get a massage and go on a vacation now. 😉
Oh, and there are still a couple kinks I need to work out. For example, I don’t have any of my email subscribers in my database right now. WordPress is in the process of transferring them over, so until that happens I won’t be able to send out notifications to my email subscribers. Super lame.
K, moving on…..
Needless to say, my “healthy living” oooph has seriously been flat-lining the past couple weeks. I have been in a psycho little funk.
AND, I don’t like being in a “psycho little funk” for too long.
Sooooo, I decided to pull myself up by my bootstraps and get BACK to work! I am recommitting myself to healthy eating, exercise, good sleep and (mostly, sorta, kinda) stress-free living! Woo hoo.
I knew I needed a big ‘ol kick in the pants, so I decided to call in the “experts”……
Ya, I went a little bit overboard at the library.
But, I love reading books on healthy living. It really helps to boost the motivation. AND, I absolutely love Bob Harper and Chris Powell. They are both so adorable and so nice.
I’m sure I won’t get through all these books, but I will do my best!
***************
Soooo, what in the heck happened to my little “Jamie Eason’s 12 week Trainer” dealy thing? Well, I’ve taken a little break from it this past week. But, I’m not quitting!
I am going to adjust things a little bit, however.
First off, I love the workouts in this plan! They are amazing! They are really tough (love it!) and very time consuming (don’t love it). It usually takes me about an hour and a half to complete a workout and I’ve been trying to do that 6 DAYS A WEEK.
Ya.
It’s been a little bit insane, I think. It’s been especially tough for me because I’m still trying to be a good mom!
I’m fine with taking my kids to the childcare or leaving them home with the big kids occasionally, but not EVERY day….for an hour and a half!
Soooo, most of the time Kev and I tried to go to the gym at night after the kids were in bed. That seemed to work pretty well for a few weeks. But, we’d usually end up staying at the gym until it closed at 11:00. AND, by the time we got home, showered and picked up the house a bit, it was well after midnight.
Soooo, I ran on about 6 hours of sleep (sometimes less) most days.
I learned the hard way that you can’t workout HARD 6 days a week and only get 6 hours of sleep at night. I also learned that if you do that…..you face-plant….hard.
Ya. I became completely worn out and utterly exhausted. It was nuts.
Oh, I gotta mention that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my vitamins! I used to get sick all of the time. I’ve always had a very lame immune system, but last fall I visited my doctor and she recommended I take a bunch of vitamins. I was originally taking about 8-9 different things, but I’ve narrowed it down a bit now. Here is my arsenal….
I take 4 (1,000 mg) Fish Oils, 1 Daily Multi, 1 vitamin D3 (5,000 IU) and 1 vitamin C (1,000 mg) every day. I take 2 Fish oils in the morning and 2 at night. If I feel especially run down or like I’m coming down with something, I take 1-2 more vitamin D pills a day and an additional vitamin C pill every hour (if I remember).
Works like a charm. I hardly ever get sick now. It’s pretty miraculous.
Anyway, after I became completely exhausted and fell apart, I decided to take a long, hard look at my life and figure out a “plan” to balance it all.
So, here’s what I’m going to do…..
For now, I’m going to try to eat as well as I can and sleep as much as I can. Then, when I feel like I’m back to 100%, I’m going to do a short-term low carb diet. I hate low carb diets, but they really are so effective! They help to reset my body and get it working like it should.
BUT, because I know that low carb diets are hard, I know I need to be 100% mentally ready to tackle it. Sooooo, that’s why I’m going to wait until I’m feeling 100%. I hope to be ready to start in a week or two.
And, as far as my exercise plan goes….I’m going to start Phase 3 of Jamie Eason’s plan all over again. But, I’m going to change it up a bit to accommodate my lifestyle. I’m only going to do the Jamie Eason workouts 4 days a week and then I’m going to do two of my favorite classes at the gym the other days. I’m also going to do some of the Jamie Eason workouts from home and I’m going to try not to go to the gym so late. I’m going to aim to go to the gym around 8ish, so I can get back around 10ish.
AND, I’m going to put my overall health first. If I feel extremely stressed out or worn out, I might skip a workout or two. And, I’m okay with that.
So, that’s my schpeal. Sorry, I’m babbling quite a bit today.
FYI, here’s what I had for breakfast this morning…
4 egg whites topped with a little bit of cheese and some low sugar ketchup and a slice of Dave’s Powerseed bread topped with Smart Balance Light and some homemade strawberry jam. Pretty typical. But, this was especially yummy today because of the cheese (a little shredded mozzarella) and jam. Yum.
I also put a yummy dinner in the Crock-pot this morning….
It’s my Fall Apart Chicken recipe and it smells so good! I love it when I remember to throw something in the Crock-pot in the morning. It makes dinnertime so much simpler!
Well, that’s all for now. It’s been SOOOO crazy ’round here, but I look forward to returning to “normal” soon.
I love you all and am so happy to be blogging again.
Yay. 😉

Oh, man! That could be my future someday………switching over web hosts. Not now, though….I’m still getting myself out there! Or maybe that’s what I need! Anyway, I use WordPress and they are great for a beginner like me! Glad to have you back! I’m gonna be checking out these links you’ve got on this post……. 🙂

I use WordPress too and I love them! Switching web hosts was a nightmare and I hope I never have to do it again. And, if I do ever have to do it again, I’m going to pay someone to do it for me, lol! It would be worth every penny!

Ok, you’re scaring me…I just purchased Bluehost, but haven’t switched anything yet…planning on it tomorrow. Was it Bluehost that caused all the broken links and issues, or what happened? Glad it’s all fixed for you 🙂

No, I switched over to Bluehost and I LOVE THEM! I have talked to their technical support department a zillion times and they are all so nice and helpful. I used to be with Dreamhost and they were okay, but their technical support was terrible! My blog just started getting errors and not loading all the time. When I checked with Dreamhost, they didn’t really help me, they just set me generic emails about how I could fix it myself. I still don’t know for sure what caused all the problems, but at that point I knew I needed a web host that could do a better job of helping me. I had some issues with my images all transferring over too. I’ve had to manually upload all of them (I’m still not done). I’m not quite sure why this happened too, but I’m just grateful my images didn’t get lost. I still have them all, but they didn’t show up in my WordPress media library. Soooo, I’ve been using a plugin to upload them all back in. It’s not too hard, but just takes time. I’m never switching web hosts again! I hope everything goes smoothly for you! Good luck!

Thank you so much Melanie for your reply! You’re a doll! Well, I’m still in the process of switching everything. I will have a new domain name. My issue is my new website is taking FOREVER to upload, I don’t Understand that?! Ive “chatted” multiple times with tech support but they just keep sending me links to fix it or whatever. It’s so hard and I’m having to learn so much by myself. I hear ya, I should have just paid somebody, but I like to understand what’s going on, but it’s taking forever. I’m so irritated. I would think self hosting would make it better than WordPress.com but it loads so slow!

I’m so sorry about the issues you’re having! I totally understand. It took forever for my stuff to upload too. It seriously took like 18 hours (literally) to download everything to my computer and then about that long again to upload it to my new site. It was maddening. After I had everything transferred over, I couldn’t access my site for some reason. Bluehost was awesome and ran a bunch of tests and determined that my internet provider had a “broken connection” somewhere that wouldn’t let me access my site. Soooo, I had to switch internet providers as well. The whole process was pretty much a nightmare, but I’m so glad it’s over. I hope it will all be over for you soon too! 😉
