Five Health and Fitness Things that I LOVE from Amazon

March 5, 2020Leave a Comment

Hey, hey, hey! I hope you have all had a beautiful day.

I’m just so stoked that spring is around the corner! It was 65 degrees here in Utah today and it felt so wonderful! I could actually feel the heat of the sun and it just felt so darn awesome.

I went to lunch today with my daughter, 5 year old son, mom, sister and niece. We went to Cafe Zupas and it was so yummy!

This picture cracks me up because we were trying to figure out how to fit my son in the picture and then he just popped his head up in the corner. It worked, lol!

I just gotta say that every single thing I’ve ever had at Zupas is so so so good and I LOVE that they have soooooo many healthy options! It’s one of my favorite restaurants.

I got a half Mediterranean Protein Bowl and a half bowl of Chicken Enchilada Chili.

It was a fun afternoon.

I also gotta say that part of the reason we got together for lunch today is that my darling daughter is leaving on a mission for our church to Portland, Oregon. She leaves in a week and a half and she will be gone for A YEAR AND A HALF!!! Sniff, sniff.

I’m in denial that she’s getting so old and growing up. It really hurts my heart. When they say “time flies,” MAN, it really does! I’m not a fan. I will miss my daughter so much, but I’m so proud of her and know she will have a wonderful experience!

Well today I thought I would share some of my very favorite things from Amazon. I actually have A TON of favorite things from Amazon, but today I’m just going to share five of them with you. I will share more of my favorites another time.

BTW, I recently joined Amazon Associates, which is Amazon’s affiliate program. That just means I will get a small commission if any of you purchase anything using one of my links.

BUT, I also gotta say that I legit love Amazon with all my heart (I think we all do!) I already share and will continue to share things that I love on Amazon with all of you, so I figured I might as well join their affiliate program!

I also wanna say that over the years I’ve only shared products and companies with all y’all that I sincerely love. I would never share something with you guys just because I’m gettin’ paid! So, I promise all of the things I share with you are things that I love very much and use in my own life.

So, with all that being said, here are some of my favorite things!

Body Fortress Glutamine

I’ve talked about glutamine many times on this blog. You can read more about it here and here if you like.

Glutamine is one of my very favorite supplements because you can actually FEEL it working! I won’t go on and on about the benefits here (you can click on one of my posts up above for more in-depth information), but I’ll just say that main benefits of glutamine are:

  • helps the body to recover after a workout
  • helps repair and maintain muscle mass
  • boosts the immune system

I’ve also heard it’s really beneficial to the intestines and digestion, it’s good for the heart and has a bunch of other benefits.

I like to take a teaspoon mixed with water right after a workout and then when I remember, I like to take another teaspoon again right before bed. When I take glutamine, my muscles are always way less sore. When I forgot to take glutamine, my muscles are always a lot more sore. Simple as that.

I think I’ve also felt the benefits of a stronger immune system as well, as I don’t get sick as often as I used to.

There are a million and one different brands of Glutamine out there. Years ago I started buying the Body Fortress brand because it’s affordable and easy to find (I buy it on Amazon or at Walmart.) I also like this brand of glutamine as well, FYI. Body Fortress is cheaper though, so I buy it more often.

Contigo 40 Ounce Water Bottle

This is my very favorite water bottle folks! I know it’s nothing fancy, but I love it.

First off, I love the flip-top spout. I think it’s fun and convenient.
Secondly, this water bottle is HUGE! I love that it’s 40 ounces.
Thirdly, I love the carry handle thingy. It’s very helpful and allows me to carry a bunch of things at once.
Forthly, it’s purple and pretty! 🙂

I know the big ol’ insulated water bottles (i.e. Hydro Flask) are all the rage right now. I just don’t like them. I think they’re way too big, heavy and bulky.

I also prefer to drink my water at room temperature, not ice cold. I know, I’m weird. I’ve just found that I’m able to drink a LOT more water every day when it’s not super cold.

That’s just my two cents.

Bodylogix Natural Grass-Fed Whey Protein Powder

This protein powder is great. It’s my new favorite brand! I’ve tried many, many brands over the years and this one is fabulous.

I gotta say that when I first got into health and fitness 11-12 years ago, it was tough to find a really “clean” protein powder. Now, I’m happy to say that they are all over the place!

I’ve had a hard time finding a high-quality, clean protein powder that actually tastes good though and this one fits the bill! The things I really love about this protein are:

  • The ingredient list is very simple
  • It’s sweetened with Stevia
  • The macros are awesome. Each scoop has 130 calories, 2.5 g. fat, 4 g. carbs and 24 g. protein.
  • It’s from grass-fed cows.
  • It’s a great price! It’s quite a bit cheaper than most other natural, grass-fed brands that I’ve seen
  • It’s tastes good! I’ve only tried the chocolate flavor so far, but it’s good!

It’s a keeper!

DOSS Soundbox Bluetooth Speaker

I know this might seem like a random thing to share, but this speaker is bomb!

I teach some exercise classes at my church twice a week for my friends in the neighborhood. I used to use Kev’s awesome JBL speaker, but sadly it stopped holding a charge and would conk out half way through my class!

So, I looked on Amazon and found this gem. It had a LOT of great reviews and it was super cheap (~$30, plus it has an additional discount right now!), so I decided to get it and hoped that it would work.

It’s great and is just as good as our JBL speaker AND it keeps it’s charge! I actually like the design of it a little better than the JBL because it sits flat and is more sturdy.

I’ve only had this speaker about 4 1/2 months, so I can’t say if it’s lasts a long, long time, but so far it’s goin’ strong and I use it ALL THE TIME!

Nature Plus You Super Greens Powder

I really, really love this greens powder (according the Amazon, I’ve purchased it five times!) I add it to all of my protein shakes and smoothies.

Over the years I’ve tried a lot of greens powders. I have a few that I like, but I really like this brand because:

  • It’s full of so many dang good things + probiotics and digestive enzymes
  • It actually doesn’t taste gross and it sort of tastes good! This is HUGE for a greens powder! So many of them out there taste just like dirt. Serious.
  • It’s high quality and organic
  • It’s a decent price
  • It doesn’t have green tea extract in it. (This is probably only relevant to members of my church who look for things like this that don’t have green tea extract in it.)

I love including a greens powder in my shakes because it just seems like a very simple and easy way to get a lot of great things in the body!

FYI, I only put 1/2 scoop in my shakes. I figure I already put a ton of other good things and greens in my shakes and this allows me to really stretch my greens powder and make it last longer! #imcheap

Well, there you have it! Five things that I really love and use all the time from Amazon. If you try any of these products, I hope, hope, hope you love them! I think you will!

G’night!

I Had a Fun Birthday Weekend!

February 12, 201415 Comments

I went to Costco the other night with Kev and bought a huge ol’ box of RAISINS! As soon as I saw these, I knew I had to have them!  They looked so good to me.  Weird!?  Yes folks, I must be pregnant. I sorta kinda like raisins, but I usually don’t buy them in mass quantities.  Hee hee.  The strangest things have sounded so good to me lately.  AND, some of my favorite things sound disgusting. Crazy. Anyway, I decided to make a big bowl of Cinnamon Raisin Protein Oatmeal for breakfast this morning and it was awesome! I Continue Reading…

Cafe Zupas Event + Easy White Chicken Chili

November 19, 201324 Comments

Last night, Kev and I had a lot of fun attending the VIP event at the new Cafe Zupas in South Jordan, Utah. Source I’ve talked about Cafe Zupas a lot on this blog because I love it so much!  They have so many healthy options and everything I’ve ever tried there, I LOVE! I usually order the Mangoberry salad, but last night I decided to try something new.  I ordered the Summer Chicken Salad (Chicken, Fresh Strawberries, Cashews, Dried Cranberries, Grapes, Mixed Greens, & House-Made Fresh Strawberry Vinaigrette Dressing) with a small bowl of Tuscan White Bean and Vegetable Continue Reading…

A Sugary Weekend + Homemade Oreos!

November 9, 201319 Comments

Well guys, my “100 Days Without Sugar Challenge” is officially over.  Holy cow. I think I did pretty well, for the most part. If you’ve been reading my blog, you know I definitely still ate sugar; just not the yummy, decadent, addicting, mouth-watering forms of sugar. I really love and miss that kind of sugar.  But, because I love it so much (and am addicted to it), I’ve found it’s much easier to just stay away from it as much as I can. I’m not one of those people who can take a small bite of something or just have Continue Reading…

Good Food, A Great Weekend and the BEST Pancake Recipe EVER!

September 30, 201315 Comments

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Kev was out of town all last week. 🙁  He got back late Friday night and I was so happy to have him home again.  He shouldn’t have to travel again for a long time and I’m very grateful. My sanity depends on him being home….or at least in the general vicinity! It’s a beautiful day today in Utah full of warmth and sunshine, but it was cold over the weekend.  In fact, look what it did on Friday… Ya, snow in September!  Crazy.  It obviously didn’t stick around, but Continue Reading…

Cafe Zupas Cookbook, Quinoa Salad Recipe and a Giveaway

September 18, 201329 Comments

Cafe Zupas is one of my all-time favorite restaurants.  Seriously. I’ve absolutely loved everything I have ever tried there.  I particularly love their salads and sandwiches and Kev thinks their soups are the best ever.  The staff is always friendly, the service is quick and the food is so fresh and (mostly) healthy too!  Love it.  Kev and I always love to go there on our date nights. I told you guys all about the wonderful Cafe Zupas VIP event I went to a couple months ago, right?  It was such a fun event and Kev and I of course Continue Reading…
