Training with my Son + Frustrations with Weight Loss

September 17, 201520 Comments

I hope you are all doing fantastic!!!  We’ve been crazy (what’s new??!?), but doing well!  Over the weekend I ran a fun 5K with this cutie… It was a very low-key race put on by our church.  Kev ran it with us too, but he didn’t make the pic….ha ha.  We had fun and it was a great way to start our Saturday. My son has been my little running buddy lately…. He’s always loved to run!  He was born with a very competitive spirit, so he loves to WIN too!  When he was 4 or 5 years old, he Continue Reading…

The Negative Effects of Sugar + a Little Bit of Progress

May 30, 201524 Comments

Well guys, I’ve been killin’ it in the “exercise department” lately, but I’ve been struggling in the “eating department!”  Gah!  As far as overall health, wellness and weight loss goes, diet is KEY.  It’s at least 80% of the equation.  I’ve learned this time and time and time again. Interesting tidbit….I ran my Half Marathon two weeks ago.  I actually felt quite chubby and bloated that weekend.  I cleaned up the diet the next week and by the next weekend I felt lean-ish and my weight was at it’s lowest since I had the baby (7-8 pounds left to lose!)  Continue Reading…

I Love Running + I Don’t Like Watching My Babies Grow Up!

April 30, 201518 Comments

I’ve been a crazy lady (as usual) and I’m so frustrated that I haven’t been able to blog more!  So sorry.  I’ve just accepted the fact that right now, this is as good as it’s going to get (in reference to blogging), dang it. Life is wonderful and I’m sincerely grateful every single day for the people and blessings in my life, but MAN, I’m looking forward to catching my breath one day.  I’ve decided it’s TOUGH to raise teenagers AND babies at the same time (not to mention all the kiddos that fall somewhere in between!) When I just Continue Reading…

Trying to Make Sense out of Craziness!

April 1, 201532 Comments

Happy April Fools Day!  I think April Fools is such a fun day.  I love reading all of my friend’s posts on Facebook about moving, having babies or various wild and crazy things with the intent of fooling all of their Facebook friends. AND, I fall for it every single time, every single year!  I eventually realize it’s a joke, but it always takes me a while.  I’m as gullible as they come.  Ha ha. I also enjoyed watching my neighbor Saran Wrap his wife’s car this morning and I loved hearing about all of the fun jokes my kid’s Continue Reading…

Crazy Life, Johnson Family Farms and a Fun Trip to Vegas!

March 19, 201531 Comments

Ok Woah, I’m so sorry I’ve been MIA lately. I don’t even think I remember HOW to blog.  Holy moly. In all seriousness, my life is insane guys.  I know I say that all the time, but it’s reality folks. AND, it’s not changing anytime soon!  We’ve had so much going on, mostly good stuff, but MAN I’m feelin’ pretty fried. We went on a quick family trip to St. George (Utah) and Las Vegas last weekend and we had a ball! Life has just been so hectic lately and Kev and I felt like we NEVER even saw each Continue Reading…

Clean Eating + Elli Quark Cheese + a Cute Visor + Running is Hard

February 24, 201518 Comments

Happy Monday y’all! I’m about a week into my “3 Months, No Crap” plan and it’s going great!  For the most part it hasn’t been too hard. It kind of reminds me of going on a “long run” instead of a sprint.  I like to think of it as a “slow and steady” way to lose weight, get in shape and improve my overall health.  I’m also hoping to form some long-term lifestyle habits. Sooo, because it’s a long-term plan and not a “get fit quick” kind of thing, I’m trying to celebrate the little triumphs.  For example… Kev and Continue Reading…
