Well, we were in Oregon visiting Kev’s family for Christmas. We had a ton of fun, but now I’m having even more fun doing MOUNTAINS of laundry and trying to catch up on life. 😉 Sigh. I must say I’ve been a little bit of a slacker the past couple weeks!! Man. This time of year is so so tough. We’ve had so many parties, get-togethers, Christmas programs, recitals, you name it….not to mention I had my little TV appearance and a 6 day trip to Oregon! So, needless to say, my workouts have been severely lacking! I’ve only been Continue Reading…
A Fun 4th of July 10K
Happy 4th of July to you all! I hope you are all enjoying the holiday. I started this morning off with a fun local 10K (6.2 mile) race with Kev, my sister Holly and a bunch of our friends. I really love running races on the 4th of July and Thanksgiving. They are my favs. However, I was a little worried about this race. First off, our June was super duper crazy, so I really haven’t been running much. I think I ran 2-3 times in the past 3 weeks! AND, I ran 4 1/2 miles this past Monday and Continue Reading…
New Shoes (Eeee!) + A Leave of Absence
On the way home from the gym yesterday I stopped at my favorite store in the world….Nordstrom Rack! Over the years I have found so many awesome, high quality, CHEAP things there that I love! Woo hoo. Well…..I will let you in on a little secret. Maybe I’ll regret putting it out there. But, because I love you all I will tell you! Nordstrom Rack is the best place ever to buy running shoes!! Love it! Kev and I have bought several pairs there. They always have a great selection of high quality running shoes and have GREAT deals! So, Continue Reading…
A Great Exercise Week!
K, although I had a few issues in the “food department” this week, I did well in the “exercise department!” Woo hoo. I’m very happy about that. Here’s the 411. Monday: I decided to switch my beloved Boot Camp class for a different class. It was a tough decision but I realized it had become mainly a cardio class. I get enough cardio from my running, so I want my classes to be mainly “weights” based. I also realized that my FAVORITE Saturday morning weights class was offered at 9:00 AM on Mondays at a Gold’s Gym a little further Continue Reading…
Hunger Games + Exercise + Chocolate Peanut Butter Mug Cake!
Well so far, it’s been a nice, relaxing weekend. It’s been way better than last weekend (when I was SO sick!) Blah. Last night Kev and I went on a much needed date. We went to see the Hunger Games. Holy cow, what a thought provoking movie! I’ve never read the book. I really wanted to read it, but never made the time. So, I really didn’t know what to expect from the movie. First off, it was full of amazing actors! Amazing! Jennifer Lawrence was perfect as Katniss! I really loved her. I thought the whole premise of Continue Reading…
I Love Healthy Food!
Well, I’ve been lovin’ this whole “healthy challenge” thing. Yay. It’s really helped me to get back on track. The only thing I really have to do to stick with my healthy challenge is not eat treats and get 7 hours+ of sleep a night. So far, so good. However, what I really love about this healthy challenge is it makes me want to be healthy in all aspects of my life! It makes me want to eat better in general and stick to my exercise plan. I love it. It’s nice to have a little support system too. It Continue Reading…
