Yes, I’m still alive!
I’ve been feelin’ pretty blah from the pregnancy, but I do have good days and bad days. I’ve been trying to “chill” on the bad days and be ultra productive on the good days.
It seems to work.
I also bought some Mama Sea-Bands to see if they would help with the nausea. They’re basically bands you wear on your wrists that use acupressure to supposedly relieve nausea.
Ya, I know it’s weird.
Kev says they’re a “gimmick” and the kids think they’re “voodoo,” but I’m pretty desperate.
And ya, I don’t think they’re working. Dang.
I’ve found that as long as I don’t eat too much at one time and don’t eat things that are too greasy or “heavy,” I do much better. I’ve been craving carbs (of course!), but I’ve been trying to pair them with some protein because I’ve heard the protein relieves morning sickness.
Oh, and I don’t know WHO IN THE HECK named it “morning sickness” because it’s more like “ALL DAY LONG” sickness! Geesh.
This morning, we made some yummy blueberry pancakes using my mother-in-law’s wonderful fluffy pancake recipe.
I also made some scrambled eggs and everything tasted so good to me. YUM!
I’ve been lovin’ blueberries lately. We bought a big container at Costco this week and they have been fabulous. I’ve been eating them plain and putting them in my yogurt and on my oatmeal.
They’re heavenly.
I’ve also been loving bowls of cold cereal. My favorites have been Chex and Special K with a little bit of Nature’s Path Pumpkin Flax Granola mixed in.
It’s also yummy with sliced bananas on top. Sooooo good.
I’ve been making totally random things for dinner. I never know what’s going to sound good to me.
The other night I was craving brown rice (weird!??), so I found a yummy recipe on All Recipes.com for Sweet and Sour Meatballs on rice. It turned out so good.
I ended up doubling the sauce and using ground turkey instead of ground beef. I also decreased the brown sugar a little bit (I used 3/4 cup instead of a cup.)
Normally, I would have gotten creative and tried to decrease the sugar even more, but I wanted to keep it simple. It was sure yummy and I enjoyed it for lunch a couple times too.
Well, my workouts have definitely been hit or miss. I still feel a little weird from my migraine experience sometimes, which freaks me out.
If I have a particularly stressful day or when I workout too hard, I start to get a dull headache and my right arm starts to feel tingly. Yes, it’s weird. It’s nothing too major, but I’m trying to listen to my body.
FYI, I had a similar neurological issue several years ago after a particularly stressful time in my life. I didn’t have the whole “migraine” thing, but I just had tingling, twitches and weirdness in the right side of my body. After going to the doctor and going through a million tests, they determined nothing was wrong with me and it was just caused by stress.
Yes, I was severely stressed out at the time. In a nutshell, Kev was very, very sick for several months and I literally worried myself sick about him. It was a tough time. ANYWAY, I made a conscious effort to decrease my stress and the symptoms eventually went away. It took about 6 months though.
Well, I’ve been having a ton of stress in my life lately too, so I’m not surprised I’ve been having similar issues. I’m just trying to relax as much as I can. I’m expecting to still feel “weird” for a while though. I’ll keep y’all posted.
I’m just grateful there’s not something seriously wrong with me….at least not that I know of. 😉
ANYWAY, I’ve been working out from home and it’s been great for now. I came up with a WONDERFUL workout the other day that I loved. I took a small break in the middle of the workout so I wouldn’t stress my body out too much, but other than that, it was perfect. I definitely worked my upper body hard and was sore the next day.
Loved it! Here it is…

I hope this workout makes sense to y’all. I basically ran on the treadmill 5 minutes at a time and then performed a few upper body exercises between each cardio interval. I ended up running 30 minutes (3 miles) total and it was great. I LOVED breaking up the run into 5 minute intervals…it seriously helped with the monotony of it all.
I even had my “photographers” snap a few pics of me while I worked out. I only had my 3 and 5 year old photographers home at the time, but they did great! A little crooked and blurry….but I was proud of them. They’re cuties.
Oh, and one of the perks of working out form home is that I can look like this! I literally threw my hair on top of my head and got to work. Awesome.
Anyway, that’s all for now! I will continue to plug along and count down the days until I feel 100%. I’m still happy and grateful for all I have and all the wonderful people in my life. I also can’t wait to have a sweet baby in our home again.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!
