I hope you are all having a wonderful Monday! I spent my morning playing soccer in the backyard with my 4 year old… He has his first soccer game tonight, so I thought I better teach him a little bit about soccer, lol! We also spent some time playing “Go Spidey” (aka. Go Fish)…. I don’t think the baby’s a fan, lol. I’ve felt so bad for my poor 4 year old the past couple of weeks. All of the big kids have gone back to school and I’ve been so dang exhausted with the baby, so he’s spent entirely Continue Reading…
What I Learned from My 100 Days Without Sugar Challenge
Well as y’all know, my “100 Days Without Sugar Challenge” ended last Friday. It was a tough challenge, but I really loved it and am so glad I did it! First off, just to recap….I started the challenge on August 1st and it ended November 8th. The only “official rule” of the challenge was to not have ANY sugary treats like chocolate, cake, soda, cookies, muffins, candy, etc. Yes, I still had foods that contained sugar. I just didn’t have these kinds of foods (with the exception of the chips)… Source Yes, it was tough to avoid these foods for Continue Reading…
A Sensible Plan + Body For Life Treadmill Workout
I’m still lovin’ Body For Life. To me, it’s just a very practical way of living. It’s a healthy, sensible diet and a manageable exercise plan. I love it. Yes, it takes commitment and planning, but I’m a lot more successful at healthy living when I have a set purpose or “plan.” I haven’t lost any weight at all though. None. Nada. I’ve decided my body is psycho. I’ve been doing my “No Sugar Challenge” for 29 days now and I love it. I’ve been following the Body For Life exercise plan for almost two weeks and the diet plan Continue Reading…
Holding Myself Accountable
I love health and fitness! I love getting a good night’s sleep! I love eating well and discovering new healthy recipes! I love getting a good workout! I love pushing myself and achieving my goals! YAY! But, even though I love it….it is NOT easy! It seems like I’ll do really well for a while….I’ll eat perfectly and get all my workouts in. I’ll even get several good night’s sleep….in a row (gasp!) I’ll start to feel really good. I’ll see results on the scale and in how my clothes fit. I’ll have more energy, feel more “in control”, feel Continue Reading…
If You Think You Don’t Have Time to Exercise….You’re RIGHT!
Exercise….. relieves stress improves mood and lifts depression! helps with weight loss (obviously) increases confidence and self esteem increases lifespan decreases risk of many diseases strengthens your heart! makes you cuter! 😉 SO WHY NOT MAKE IT A PRIORITY!? The #1 reason people DON’T exercise is because they don’t have the time! We are all so BUSY! The world we live in is so fast paced and constantly pulling us in a million different directions. We are NEVER going to find ourselves with a big chunk of time and think, “Hmmmmm, I have all this time and nothing to do….I Continue Reading…
Make It Happen!
Just thought I’d do a quick post… I went to my favorite Power Pump class at the gym Saturday morning. It is such an awesome class! I work every muscle in my body to the MAX! It’s insane. Love it though….time well spent, that’s for sure! The lady that teaches the class is 5 foot, nothin’ and I’m sure she doesn’t weigh more than 100 pounds. She is so tiny and buff and is probably pushin’ 50 or so! She really motivates me! Anyway, while I was working out, I had some deep thoughts I thought I would share. Nothing Continue Reading…
