Hello everyone! Yes, I’m still alive. Ya know, I get asked all the time, “How do you find time to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, take care of 6 kids and a husband AND blog about it all?” My answer is always, “It….Is…..NOT….easy!” But, I love it! However, when my blog isn’t updated for a while, it’s probably because I’m busy exercising, preparing healthy meals, spending time with my family and/or occasionally sleeping. There are not enough hours in my day….seriously. I also must say that preparing meals/snacks for Whole 30 takes quite a bit of extra time. I’ve Continue Reading…
One Week Down on Whole 30!
Well guys, I made it through WEEK #1 of Whole 30! Wahoo! It was NOT easy, but I got ‘er done. Whenever I start a new “diet,” “goal,” or “plan,” the first week is always the hardest! Food cravings are crazy, my appetite goes nuts and everything seems so daunting. For the first few days on Whole 30, I seriously just had to take it “one day at a time.” The entire 30 days seemed so overwhelming! I know it’s ONLY 30 days, which really isn’t all that long, BUT when the body is in detox and the cravings/appetite are Continue Reading…
Goin’ Strong on Whole 30!
Well folks, so far I am loving Whole 30! Woo hoo. However, it is NOT easy! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to reach for a quick snack and then realized it’s not “Whole 30 approved!” It really is eye-opening to me how many times I’ve wanted to mindlessly snack. I still have plenty of things I can snack on (cut up fruit, veggies, olives, pickles, etc.), but it’s interesting how “healthy snacks” just don’t have quite the draw that unhealthy snacks have. When I see an unhealthy snack, it seems like my body sends off all Continue Reading…
Happy New Year + Getting Ready for Whole 30!
Happy 2015 everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day! We spent New Year’s Eve up at my parent’s house. My mom throws a “mean party” every year with a bunch of my aunts, uncles, cousins and siblings. It’s a lot of fun! There’s always a lot of good food and we usually watch some sort of “old pictures” slideshow. We also like to bring in the New Year a couple hours earlier, along with the East Coast of the country, lol. Just before everyone leaves, we sing Auld Lang Syne (sadly, we couldn’t fit Continue Reading…
A Fun Christmas, New Years Resolutions and Whole 30!
Well hello friends! Yes, I’m still alive. I haven’t been able to blog for a while for several reasons…. I’ve been enjoying Christmas and the beautiful calm that follows Christmas with my family! I’ve been suffering from the stomach flu (one of the worst forms of torture known to man, IMO) for the past several days. Blah. We were out of town most of last week so we could spend time with Kev’s family in Oregon. Blogging remotely is very hard for me to do because I use an old fashioned desktop computer! Soooo, when I’m not home, my options Continue Reading…
