Well, I’m happy to say that summer is calming down just a bit. 🙂 However, I’m finding it very hard to blog these days! With all the kiddos home, it is very hard to find any quiet (i.e. mentally productive, put two words together and make any sense) time. Ha ha.
I will do my best!
Anyway, we’ve been having a lot of fun lately. I posted a few things on my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram feeds, but I wanted to share here as well! We went to Top Golf last weekend and had so much fun! Top Golf is new to Utah and we’ve been wanting to go for a while now. It did not disappoint!
It’s basically a fancy schmancy driving range with some fun competition and scoring mixed in. It’s way fun!
It’s actually not too expensive unless you buy a bunch of food!!! However, the food is awesome! I got this yummy salad and enjoyed every bite…
I even snagged a few of those fries. They were very good, but I didn’t care for the rosemary seasoning they put on them.
I am sooooo not sportsy and I’m definitely not a golfer, but I had fun and actually didn’t do too bad! Ha ha.
Kev’s a lot more sportsy than me! He absolutely loved it and can’t wait to go back.
All the kids had so much fun and wished they could’ve golfed the entire time!
Ya know, I wish a was a great photographer or master Photoshopper so I could figure out how to improve the lighting on these pics, dang it!! Some day I’ll take the time and figure it out…..
My baby LOVED golfing sooooo much!! I shot a hilarious video of him that I shared on Instagram. I laugh and laugh and laugh so hard every time I watch it. Oh, how I love that little baby boy!
Oh, I also took this cute picture of my little snuggle bug…
He is a very busy baby and would have been running all over Top Golf, BUT his binky saved me. I’m very, very grateful for it. I call it his tranquilizer. Seriously, as long as he has that in his mouth, he’s very happy and content to sit on my lap and snuggle. I LOVE it sooooo much! He also loves to pinch the skin on my knuckles. Too cute. In fact, I was thinking of weening him from his binky when he turns two (in two months….sniff, sniff), but I sorta kinda don’t want to just yet. He’s my last little baby and I’m loving the snuggles!
*******************
Well, I’ve been loving my workouts the past couple weeks! I’ve still been doing Jessie Hilgenberg‘s Bikini Body program and I love it. I’m on week #3 and I think I’m seeing some results! I really love the layout and structure of the workouts, however I have changed a few of the moves. There have just been a couple moves that I don’t love and/or haven’t felt are very effective.
For example, I felt like such a doofus doing this move…
You can click here to see the video in action if you so desire. Hee hee.
I still swallowed the pride and did some Reverse Hypers at the gym, but A) I felt like a dork and B) It didn’t seem to be super awesome. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but I decided to abandon ship anyway and replaced it with some Supersets of deadlifts and Hamstring Roll-outs on a swiss ball. I loved those moves much more!
This is another psycho move that makes me feel like a doofus….
Ha ha! These are called reverse abductors. You can click here to see the video of the move in action.
Even though I felt like a dork doing this move, it’s actually quite awesome! I can always feel it working and know it’s effective! Sooooo, I just hop on the machine, put my head down and get to work. However, a couple weeks ago as I was doing this move (head down, hoping that no one was looking at me!) my friend’s husband came up to me and asked me about the move! Bwwwwwhahahaha!!!
I was thinking, “Seriously…..out of all the moves!!!” Oh well, I go to the gym to workout and get in shape and if I look like an idiot….so be it! 🙂
Anyway, most of the moves in this program are pretty typical and I love them. I took this progress pic after I got home from the gym last week….
I still feel very fluffy and have 10 or so pounds that I want to lose, but I think I’m seeing just a little bit of muscle showing up. Yahoo!
I DO NOT want to turn into a mega muscle lady, I’m just hoping to gain a little muscle, tone up and lean out.
Oh, and I also feel the need to say that I really, I mean really do not not taking and sharing selfies of myself! Barf. That is really one of the things I struggle with as a blogger…the whole self-promotion part of it all. I do not want to be like….”Hey everyone, look at me….look at all the cool things I’m doing….I have such a blissful, perfect life.” Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Sooooo, I really hope y’all know that my purpose and motivation for my blog and with health and fitness in general is not to get attention or tell the world all about ME ME ME, but rather to paint a very real picture about a busy mom who struggles just like everyone else and who wants to lose weight and get in shape….just like everyone else. Ha ha!
I’ve definitely learned a lot of tips and tricks over the years that I love to share with y’all AND I’ve also failed miserably at things many, many times and I love to share that with all y’all too!!! Sooooo, I’ll just keep on sharing over-sharing my life with the world in hopes of helping people out in cyberspace any way that I can. I sincerely love people (ALL OF YOU!!!) and really wish the best for each and every one of you. Thank you for reading my blog, by the way. I think that’s very nice.
Anyway, I have a recipe that I want to share today as well! I’ve been making it pretty much every day for breakfast the past couple weeks. It’s for Healthy Egg Wraps and they are yummy!!!
They are also very quick and easy to make. You can also customize them any way you like! Here’s how I make mine…
Ingredients:
- 1 whole egg
- 2 egg whites (about 1/4 cup)
- splash of milk (I’ve been using cashew milk)
- seasonings of your choice (I love to sprinkle in some seasoning salt and black pepper)
- toppings and fillings of your choice (cheese, peppers, onions, tomatoes, olives, avocado, mushrooms, sour cream, salsa, ketchup, etc.)
Directions:
Note: While I’m cooking my egg wrap, I like to saute my onions and peppers in a little olive oil in another pan.
In a small bowl, mix egg, egg whites, milk and seasonings very well with a fork or wire whisk.
Pour egg mixture onto large heated pan.
Cook until egg is set on one side. Flip over and cook the other side until cooked through…
If you want to add cheese, sprinkle some on top of the hot egg wrap so it can melt.
Remove egg wrap from pan and top with desired toppings…
I love to top mine with cheese, turkey (or ham), sauteed onions and peppers and avocado. Yum!
Roll the wrap up and top with any additional toppings…
I love to top mine with salsa and a little lite sour cream (not pictured.) It is sooooo good! Enjoy!

I’ve really been enjoying these wraps. They may seem complicated, but they are so quick and easy! I like to chop up a bunch of peppers and onions and just keep them in a container in the fridge. It really simplifies the process.
Well, I think that’s all I have to say today! I just want to mention that my house has been very quiet today. It’s been strange, but very nice! My 12 year old is at Scout Camp this week and I think that is a big part of it. Ha ha. He is a very wonderful boy, but he is also my loudest boy who always has a gajillion friends running around. I sure miss him, but I’m enjoying this little bit of peace and quiet. Let’s hope it lasts!
Love you all! Enjoy your night! xoxo

I truly love the honesty and candor of your blog. I really feel uncomfortable about the self-promotion part about blogging too. I don’t like gym selfies, etc, but try to sneak them in when nobody’s around.
That move on the bench is so effective for the glutes, although it looks kind of crazy.
Your baby looks so cute and happy on the golf course.

Ha ha Char, I feel the same about gym selfies! I hate taking them, but try to if I get a chance. I enjoy seeing gym selfies of other people and think they are motivational!!! Thanks so much for your kind comments. <3 <3 <3

My fiance is ALWAYS talking about how he wants to FRANCHISE a TOP GOLF and open one up in Los Angeles! HAHAHAH! I am totally on board if that FOOD is as good as you say it is! LOL! But I mean, I guess the food would vary depending on location! 😉
