I’m here to say that Crazy Busy Life + Sleep Deprivation + Daylight Savings = Pretty lame food choices.
Ya.
My weekend was pretty weak.
I could have done a LOT worse though.
**************************
On Friday, my daughter asked if she and her 8 year old brother could make a treat.
My first thought was, “Dang it.”
Then I realized it was Friday and I loved making treats when I was a kid and I don’t want to deprive them all the time, etc., etc., etc.!
So, I said “Yes!”
They wanted to make chocolate chip cookies (my fav!), however I didn’t have any chocolate chips (on purpose!) so they couldn’t make them.
Phew.
I thought I was pretty safe.
Then they said, “We’ll just make brownies then.”
Day…ang.
Brownies are my second favorite.
The brownies ended up being extra gooey too, so I just had to have some!
So, I snitched several little bites. I probably ended up eating about 2 small brownies.
Not too bad…I’ve been known to do a LOT more damage!
I wish my weekend confessions ended there….but they do NOT!
Sooooooo, on Saturday I found myself eating french fries on more than one occasion!
Ya.
Then on Sunday we went up to my sister’s house to play games. They happened to have a MEGA gargantuan Costco sized bag of peanut M&Ms!
Not good!
So, there are my confessions.
I don’t regret eating the brownies (super yum!), but the other stuff probably wasn’t worth it.
Live and learn.

I gotta tell ya, yesterday after church I made some more Roasted Pear and Feta Cheese flat breads. I tweaked the recipe a little bit and they were so good!
First off, I used the last of the whole wheat flat bread I bought at Walmart.
I told you before that I liked these, but didn’t love them. One of the things I didn’t love about them is that they were a little too thick. Sooooo, I decided to butterfly them and make one flat bread into two.
Worked perfectly and I loved them so much more!
I also ended up grilling the pears for just a minute or two in a pan sprayed lightly with olive oil. I didn’t cook the pecans at all (just sprinkled them on top as is) and they were just fine. I also added the arugula afterward and it added so much flavor! Loved it! I also added a little bit of shredded mozzarella cheese.
It was so dang yummy, I could eat it every day. Seriously.
I just had to share the tweaks with you all!
I hope you are all doing well and not draggin’ too much with the daylight savings time! Ya know, it’s only an hour but it KILLS me every year! I love the sunlight however! Wa hoo! Spring is on the way!!!
Leave a comment....I would love to hear from you!
