I wasn’t able to blog too much last week, so I have a lot to share! Today’s post is going to be like drinking from a fire hose. 🙂
I’m still going strong with the “no-sugar challenge” and have no plans to quit! I hope those of you who are doing it with me are doing well too.
I thought it was really hard the first 4-5 days, but since then it hasn’t been too bad. However, yesterday Kev’s brother came to visit and he brought donuts! Auuugh. Donuts are probably my #3 favorite “bad food” out there. They looked heavenly, but of course I didn’t have any. Yay.
Kev also ran a relay race this past weekend and when he came home he brought some very yummy treats home with him! Dang it. They looked so good, but again, I didn’t have any. Yay again.
Hey, we only have 88 more days to go, right??
Oh, and today is Kev’s birthday too! Thankfully, he told me he didn’t want me to make cake. I’m happy ’bout that.

Sooooo, I was very busy last week! Here are some of the things I enjoyed…
I went to Costco! I really love Costco so much. Here are some of the things I bought…
Peaches (the best!), frozen strawberries (for shakes and smoothies), mangoes, avocados, fresh strawberries and some very yummy turkey breast (on sale!),
I haven’t tried it yet, but I loved that it looked to be high quality, was reduced sodium and didn’t have any added nitrites. Oh, and did I mention it was on sale?? Booyah!
Oh, and look what else I found at Costco….
So darling, right?
My two boys are HUGE superhero fans, so they LOVED these hoodies! They are so dang cute and only $10. I love the little masks that are tucked into the hoods too. So fun. FYI, Costco had Hulk, blue Batman and Superman too. Superman didn’t have a mask though. Bummer, but I guess Superman doesn’t wear a mask, huh?
Moving on…
We went out with some of our bestest friends last week. We lived in New Hampshire for about 3 years and our friends, Kevin and Kelly lived close to us and also went to church with us. I miss them so much. 🙁
We went to Cafe Rio and I ordered the Tostada Sweet Pork Salad. It is the best ever!
I was really lame at taking pictures, but we did manage to take this gem…
I didn’t even take a picture of my food, but trust me, it was fantastic! After we ate, we hung out at our house for a bit. Kelly and I have matching dogs…
They are both Chorkies (Yorkie-chihuahua) and are too cute! We had a wonderful night.
I told you guys that Kev was gone running a relay race over the weekend, right? Well, while he was gone I decided to make some yummy kabobs and grill them up ALL BY MYSELF! I’ve grilled hot dogs before, but other than that I’m really not too “grill experienced.” I’m happy to say that I didn’t mess them up!
Kabobs are one of my favorite foods ever! I have the yummiest chicken marinade that makes the chicken so flavorful and moist. It is the bomb.
Yummy, yum, yum.
I also made some protein balls with my sweet 3 year old.
I love protein balls so much! AND, since I’m not eating sugar I thought these would help to take the edge off! We made a double batch of Coconut Chia Seed Protein Balls and Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Protein Balls (I left out the chocolate chips in some of them so I could eat them!) I put these plates in the freezer and then after they were frozen (about 30 minutes), I transferred them into Ziploc freezer bags. Yum!
I also created a fun Treadmill workout last week too! I ran 4.5 miles and it took just over 40 minutes. It was a great workout and was actually kind of fun! I really don’t love the treadmill, but if I follow a specific workout it takes my mind off of it and makes the time go by much faster. You also burn a lot more calories when you do intervals (run faster and slower throughout the workout.) Bonus.
And here’s a lovely picture….
It was fun!
Oh, and my treadmill said I burned almost 700 calories, but I think it’s a little jacked. It was probably more like 500. It made me feel good though!
Well that’s it for today. I have to go get ready to celebrate Kev’s birthday! So fun! I hope you all have a wonderful Monday!

Great job at refusing the donuts. Tonight is my brother’s bday, so I will need that will power to refuse cake and wine. Looks like a tough treadmill workout. I’ll have to try it on my cardio day.
