Healthy Yogurt Vegetable Dip

January 10, 201311 Comments

As you all know, I’ve been trying to eat a lot more fruits and vegetables lately!  I’m always lookin’ for ways to add them to my diet.  I love to add veggies to my eggs, protein shakes (spinach), salads or just enjoy them on their own!  AND, when I eat them on their own, I love to dip them in a yummy dip!

This dip happens to be yummy AND healthy!  Woo hoo.  I basically took my mom’s vegetable dip recipe and subbed Greek yogurt for the mayo.  Yay.

Healthy Yogurt Vegetable Dip

(makes 2 cups, 16 servings)

  • 1 C. fat free plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 C. low fat sour cream
  • 1/2 Tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dill weed
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt

Mix everything together and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.

Also, if you made this same recipe with full fat sour cream and mayo it would run you about 125 calories for the same 2 Tablespoons!  CrAzY!

YUM! I have a ton of veggies that my boyfriend’s sister sent home with us and no dip so this would be perfect 🙂

[…] Spend half an hour once or twice a week preparing a couple kinds of vegetables (and/or fruits!) you like to eat raw. I’m talking cucumbers, carrots, bell peppers, you name it! Wash and slice the veggies, then store them in your fridge for easy access. You can bag them individually for on-the-go snacks, or keep them in one large container to pull out whenever you get the munchies. Consider making a yummy dip to go with them, if you aren’t convinced you’ll eat them alone (try this!). […]
