Well oh my word, my blog has gone dark the past few weeks! Man. Quite frankly, my life has pretty much been rocked. If you follow me on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, you probably know that my precious father passed away. It really has been one of the most surreal and heart wrenching things I’ve ever gone through. He’d struggled with Alzheimer’s Disease for many years, so I’m so happy he is free of that burden. It was so so hard to see him that way and watch him struggle. However, even though I lost my dad to Alzheimer’s years Continue Reading…
Living Up Summer + Loving My Oxygen Challenge!
Hey, hey, hey! Well we’ve been busy livin’ up summer! Ya know, I really didn’t love summer last year. I’m not exactly sure why. I just remember feeling like we were living in constant chaos and being frustrated that I couldn’t get anything done. I also had a very busy almost two year old that made it very hard for me to be productive! So far, this year I’m LOVING summer! I think a lot of it has to do with my mindset. I’ve been trying to just let things go a bit, relax and just enjoy the summertime with Continue Reading…
I Started the Oxygen Challenge 3!
Well, I started the Oxygen Magazine Challenge this week and I’m lovin’ it! It’s basically just a 90 day health and fitness challenge that includes meal plans, recipes and workouts. It’s awesome. Oh, and there’s also an Oxygen Magazine cover model challenge! Woot! Apparently, at the end of the challenge, readers and Oxygen Magazine employee people vote on who should be on the cover of the magazine. I’m not thinkin’ I’ll win that 😉 , but it helps to keep me motivated nonetheless! In order to officially enter the “cover model contest,” I had to take and submit a before Continue Reading…
My Baby Graduated + We Ran the Ragnar Wasatch Back!
Well, we had a fun, yet eventful week last week! Last Thursday, my darling oldest son graduated from High School! Even though I’ve been preparing myself for it all year, it still seems surreal to me. Man. How can I possibly have a son old enough to graduate!??!? It’s especially weird since I feel like I graduated high school, oh about 5 years ago myself. It absolutely blows my mind! I definitely put a lot of my own blood, sweat and tears into my sons diploma (that’s the understatement of the century!), so I told him I needed a cap and Continue Reading…
Getting Ready to Run + Finding a Healthy Balance
Well folks, my life is nuts this week! It’s the last week of school, which I think is mostly awesome. I’m very grateful summer is here and I’m more than ready for the relaxed schedule, but I’m a little nervous for all of the inevitable chaos that’s about to be heaped upon us! Auuugh. I’ve also been busy getting ready for our upcoming relay race this weekend. I’m excited, but a little nervous! I’ve mentioned this before, but my first leg of this race is my longest. I’m happy about that. It’s over 10 miles though, which is loooooong. I Continue Reading…
Eating Well, Staying Motivated + Naked Nutrition
Well folks, I just have a few random thoughts to share with y’all tonight. I get asked all the time about how I stay motivated, what I eat, how I stick with a regular exercise regimen, how to get started with healthy living, etc. etc. etc. Well, the long and short answer to all of those questions is…..it’s complicated. Ha ha. I loooooove health and fitness and I love living (or trying to live) a healthy lifestyle because it’s so rewarding. When I’m actively taking care of my body (eating well, getting decent sleep, exercising), I feel better, I have Continue Reading…
