Summer, Feeling Huge, a Kick in the Bum and a Fun Father’s Day!

June 16, 201412 Comments

Happy, happy Monday! I’ve been LOVING summer so far!  I’ve enjoyed sleeping in and vegging a bit.  It’s been nice.  It’s also been SO NICE to not have to worry about the kid’s homework and things.  LOVE that! We’ve also had the most beautiful, perfect summer weather lately.  It’s been mostly in the 80’s, with a few days in the low 90’s.  It’s supposed to be kind of cool the next couple days, so I decided to take the kiddos to the park today. They all had a ball!  I was happy to see my big kids enjoying themselves too.  Continue Reading…

Pluggin’ Along with the Healthy Lifestyle…

May 21, 201420 Comments

I’ve really been loving the “healthy lifestyle” plan I’ve been doing this month.   I’ve done really well for the most part, but I’ve definitely had a few bad days. However, I haven’t had any fried foods and I’ve done pretty well on my sugar consumption.  That’s a huge plus for me!  BUT, I did have a very crappy day yesterday.  Dang. My daughter keeps asking if she can make a treat, but I keep talking her out of it.  But yesterday she really wanted to make something.  Sooooo, she made yellow cupcakes with chocolate chips in them with chocolate frosting Continue Reading…

Deep Thoughts and My New Healthy Diet

April 23, 201414 Comments

Well it’s only been 3 1/2 days, but I’m really loving my healthy diet so far!  I think it could be the perfect lifestyle for me.  Yes, it’s tough and requires mental commitment, but it’s not SOOO tough that I can’t sustain it. Just to recap….my new diet lifestyle right now is basically this: Don’t eat any sugary treats (brownies, candy, cookies, cake, etc.) Don’t eat any fried foods. Stay away from diet beverages. Eat lots of fruits, veggies, lean meats, certain dairy products (Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, a little bit of regular cheese), whole grains (oats, quinoa, brown rice, Continue Reading…

Enjoying Spring Break + My New Healthy Plan

April 18, 201421 Comments

We’ve been loving spring break the past couple days!  It’s been so nice to slow down a bit and enjoy a less hectic schedule. I went to the gym this morning and got a great strength training workout in.  I worked my upper and lower body and pretty much hit all the major muscle groups.  I also snapped a quick pick after my workout… For some reason whenever I take a pic of myself at the gym, I’m always wearing this outfit!  Yes, I do wear other things, lol.  However, I really only have 3-4 outfits I can fit in Continue Reading…

Lots of Yummy Healthy Food and a Day at the Park!

October 16, 20137 Comments

Well, so far I’ve been lovin’ my ULTRA healthy diet.  It’s been tough, but I know it’s so good for me. 😉 Whenever I decide to kick my diet up a notch, one of the first things I notice is how often I want to snack!!  Man.  AND, the snacks I usually want to grab aren’t necessarily the healthy ones (unhealthy carbs and processed foods.) Those types of foods are just so easy to eat, are very satisfying and are too dang yummy! It’s not quite as tempting to snack when my choices are fruit, veggies, yogurt, nuts, etc.  It Continue Reading…

Healthy Eating Week + Weekend Happenings

July 8, 20136 Comments

Happy Monday to you all!  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. We had a busy weekend.  On Saturday morning, Kev and I went to a funeral for our good friend’s little brother.  He was only 29 years old and died suddenly.  It was from natural causes, but they aren’t entirely sure what happened.  It was very tragic, but the funeral was so beautiful.  They have a very strong and tight-knit family and I was so touched by the beautiful tribute they gave to him. After the funeral, Kev and I decided to get some lunch at Blue Lemon. Continue Reading…
