Seeing some Decent Results + Lots of Yummy, Healthy Food!

October 15, 201619 Comments

Well, I’m still going strong with my “Healthy Challenge!”  I’m not suffering, not complaining, not feeling deprived, not counting down the days….on the contrary; I’m loving it, feel so strong, am finally seeing some results, have no plans to quit and could actually see myself sticking with it indefinitely (with the addition of the occasional treat, of course!) One of the many, many, many reasons I love challenging myself like this is that I develop new habits, cut out a bunch of bad habits, develop willpower I didn’t know I had and see great results!  I’ve been feeling really good, have Continue Reading…

Deep Thoughts, Weight Loss Woes, Def Leppard and Cherished Friends

September 23, 201613 Comments

Hey hey hey!  Well I’m about 2 1/2 weeks into my little healthy challenge that I set up for myself.  I have to say that I’m loving it, I’m so glad I’m doing it, I feel good, BUT dang it, I haven’t seen a whole lotta results so far. It’s a’ight though because I know changes don’t happen overnight (or in 2 1/2 weeks!), I know it takes time, I know it takes loads of patience and I know I’m taking good care of my body in the meantime. I feel like I’ve been gaining muscle and getting stronger, but Continue Reading…

My Son’s Baptism + Some Progress Pictures! Wahoo!

May 3, 201612 Comments

Last week was a crazy busy, yet wonderful week for me!  My sweet 8 year old was baptized on Saturday and it was an absolutely beautiful day! However, the week leading up to that baptism was insane!  I had a billion things to buy, a program to plan, a house to clean, food to buy/prepare and a baptism video to make! When my oldest was baptized, I made him a “baptism video” full of pictures of him from birth to age 8 set to music.  It was a TON of work (way more than I ever thought it would be!), Continue Reading…

Still Not Having Sugar + My Wonderful Trip to NYC!

April 16, 201618 Comments

Oh my word folks, I have been crazy this past month!  I’ve been a travelin’ lady AND I hardly ever travel! It’s been fun, but it doesn’t make blogging easy!  Just over a month ago, we went to Moab (Utah) so Kev and some of our friends could run a Half Marathon.  THEN, we went to St. George (Utah) and Zion’s National Park with our little family 3 weeks ago.  AND NOW, I just got back from NEW YORK CITY with a bunch of my High School friends! Oh you guys, it was the best trip evah!!!!!  I’m going to tell Continue Reading…

Macros, Running and some Scary Before Pictures

March 25, 201614 Comments

Spring break is officially underway at our house!  The kids are out of school until next Tuesday and we have some fun things planned.  Wahoo! I love this time of year.  I love spring, the sun, the flowers starting to bloom, Easter, the warmth, the longer days and just the happiness it all brings!  LOVE it! I also want to mention that I’ve been kicking some serious booty with my macro counting and workouts this week.  Yay!  After our crazy, sick week last week, it feels soooo good to get back to work. I’ve been following my new macro ratio; Continue Reading…

The Stomach Flu, Birthdays, a Fun Race + I’m Going to Lose Weight!

March 18, 201615 Comments

Well folks, this past week my life and healthy living mojo has been turned on it’s head!  First off, we’ve had the stomach flu at our house…all week long! Ya. It entered our home Sunday afternoon and I think (fingers crossed) it might be officially gone now!  My poor baby got sick on Sunday.  It was the first time he’d ever had “the flu,” so it was so sad to see him so sick! On Tuesday morning, I awoke early with that awful gnawing feeling in my stomach.  I was like, “Noooooo!” and was very much in denial for several Continue Reading…
