So, here’s the deal…. I’ve been a slacker blogger. My little sis has been in town visiting from Connecticut and we have been par-taying! We’ve had so much fun, but I haven’t had much time to blog. I’ve also been eating a little crappily…..all for the sake of my sister, of course! 😉 We had to eat some yummy sentimental treats. It’s been very fun, but I’m ready to be disciplined again. So, I am officially on the wagon again and it feels SOOOO good! ********************************* I love to set short-term goals for myself. They don’t seem so overwhelming Continue Reading…
Exercise Tid Bits + Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins
K, the kids and I went downtown and met Kev for lunch today. Very fun. We went to Chuck-a-Rama. Just a word to the wise….if you are trying to eat healthily and lose weight…..don’t eat at Chuck-a-Rama. That is all I’m going to say about that….;-) Moving on…Each week I try to set exercise goals for myself. On Sunday night, I look at my schedule for the week and see when I can fit exercise in every day (except Sunday). I’ve found I have the most success if I strive to exercise every day. If I tell myself I will Continue Reading…
Hydration tips and Fruit/Spinach Protein Shake
I went to one of my favorite classes at the gym tonight….Boot Camp! Love it! It’s basically an hour of short, yet intense cardio/resistance intervals. I always leave totally SPENT. It’s awesome. Kev comes with me sometimes too. I told him that a lot of (normal) men attend the class, so he started coming with me and he loves it too! So, if you have a gym membership, I would highly encourage you to try out a Boot Camp (or similar) class. You and your body will love it! I also thought I would put in a little plug for Continue Reading…
Yummy Healthy Dinner
I have had the craziest week ever!!!!!! Auuughhh! It’s been great, but it’s felt like it’s been a month! Camping in Bear Lake for 2 days, my sister visiting from Connecticut (very fun), Kev’s brother’s family staying with us, and going up to Girls Camp for our church for a day and a half…..all in a week (5 1/2 days actually). All very fun stuff, but very very busy. I’m hoping life will calm down a bit now and I can blog on here a little more. 😉 Anyway, I thought I would post a very yummy, healthy dinner recipe Continue Reading…
Healthy Travel Snacks
We just got back from camping up at Bear Lake my some of my family. We had a great time hanging out, lounging by the lake, touring Minnetonka Cave, and just enjoying the great outdoors. While we were gone, I realized it is VERY hard to eat well and have a “plan” while traveling. I didn’t eat terribly, but I could have eaten A LOT better! It was hard because there was a lot of candy, chips, chocolate, s’mores, etc. around and they are all very yummy. It is very easy to allow yourself to just eat “a few” and Continue Reading…
Easy Healthy Snacks
One of the most important things you can do to ensure you stay “on the wagon” is to PLAN, PLAN, PLAN. It might sound like a pain, but it is vital. If you don’t have a plan then it’s easy to just eat whatever is in the house, whatever sounds good, whatever is quick and easy (not necessarily healthy), etc. I love the saying, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” Very true. So, I usually either make a weekly, biweekly, monthly menu or…. I wake up in the morning and think, “What am I going to eat Continue Reading…
